MAGES. has announced that Kanojo, Okarishimasu: Suiheisen to Mizugi no Kanojo (Rent-A-Girlfriend: The Girl in a Swimsuit on the Horizon), the first adventure game based on Reiji Miyajima’s popular manga and anime series Rent-A-Girlfriend, will be released for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on November 28. Fans can now pre-order the game.
The limited edition version of the game offers fans exclusive content, including a box adorned with a unique illustration, a collection of four “fanciful situational drama” CDs, and the game’s original soundtrack. Additionally, all pre-orders will come with one of five exclusive illustrations drawn by Reiji Miyajima, distributed randomly.
The game introduces an entirely original story set on a summer island, where players will follow the five heroines as they undertake a week-long part-time job. This new narrative promises to deliver fresh experiences and scenarios for fans of the series.
The Rent-A-Girlfriend anime adaptation first premiered on the Animeism programming block in July 2020 and consisted of 12 episodes. It was streamed worldwide by Crunchyroll, excluding Asia. The series’ second season debuted in July 2022, with Crunchyroll continuing to stream the episodes as they aired. The third season followed in July 2023, also featuring 12 episodes and global streaming on Crunchyroll, except in Asia. Fans can look forward to a fourth season, slated for release in 2025.
The anime follows the story of Kinoshita Kazuya, a 20-year-old college student who, after a painful breakup, turns to a rental girlfriend service. The plot kicks off when he meets Mizuhara Chizuru, a charming and beautiful girl who changes his life. As described by Crunchyroll, the series is a “reckless rom-com filled with love and excitement.”
Reiji Miyajima’s Rent-A-Girlfriend manga began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in July 2017. The English version is being published by Kodansha USA Publishing.
