Niantic has announced a makeup event for Mega Lucario Raid Day in Pokémon GO, scheduled for Sunday, August 27. This decision comes in response to issues experienced by some players during the original event. As compensation, affected players will receive additional rewards, though the specific regions for the rerun have not been disclosed.
The initial Ultra Unlock event saw the debut of Maushold in Pokémon GO, but the spotlight was on the Strength of Steel event. Fans had been eagerly anticipating the mega evolutions of Metagross and Lucario for years, and the latter finally made its appearance. However, the event did not go off without a hitch.
According to a recent tweet from Niantic Support, some players were unable to access the Mega Lucario Raid Day ticket bonuses after 5 pm, affecting those in certain time zones. To make amends, Niantic is extending the Mega Lucario Raid Day and ticket bonuses to Sunday, July 28, from 12 pm to 5 pm local time for the impacted players. Additionally, these players will receive compensation in the form of refunded Raid Passes, 5 Star Pieces, and 5 Lucky Eggs.
Despite the generous compensation, Niantic has yet to reveal which time zones will benefit from this makeup event, leaving many fans puzzled. The need to rerun the event indicates that a significant number of players were affected, but the lack of specifics has caused some confusion.
This was not the only issue players encountered during the Mega Lucario Raid Day. Reports emerged that the Mega Energy awarded when walking with Lucario was also glitched. Instead of the usual 25 Mega Energy for a 5km buddy Pokémon, players were reportedly receiving only 15 Mega Energy. It remains to be seen if Niantic will address this issue in the upcoming event.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the makeup event.
