Gamers beware! Breaking news coming from the online world of gaming. Avoid playing Apex Legends for now to ensure your accounts are safe. At this very moment, there is a major ongoing exploit where players and their clients could get hacked mid-session.
Recently, A big Apex Legends tournament ended abruptly after several pro players were hacked during one of the final matches of the competition. This is a major problem as if there was unauthorized access and the players did get the hacks that way, not only Apex Legends would be affected due to this exploit but more games could be a potential target as well, especially those that use Easy Anti Cheat as their anti-cheat to prevent players from well… hacking of course.
This weekend however, everything went sideways when several pro Apex Legends players including Noyan “Genburten” Ozkose and Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen, were hacked while they were playing for the North American finals and yes, this happened live during their livestreams.
They were given wall hacks, allowing them to see where other players were on the map by looking at their name tags. While these two players got hacked, one of them left the game and the other kept playing. The event has been postponed for now and will be played once this problem has been resolved.
However, while they got hacked, they also got their computers infected with malicious files and viruses that came from the client of Apex Legends or well, from the guy that hacked them.
I’m having a hard good feeling that this might be related to the Call of Duty exploit, but refactored for other games, we had the same issues when this similar situation happened on Call of Duty.
