Pokémon GO Is Giving Away Free Halloween Rewards, Including a Special Pikachu

Pokémon GO is celebrating Halloween 2026 with free rewards, costumed Pokémon, special events, and new Shiny encounters. Players can claim six Rare Candies and a special Halloween Pikachu through free Timed Research. However, the rewards won’t remain available forever.

The Halloween celebrations also bring new Pokémon appearances, Mega Chandelure, and several activities leading into November.

Free Halloween Rewards Available Until November 1

Players can receive special Timed Research as part of Pokémon GO’s Halloween Part 1 event.

The research offers two notable rewards:

  • 6 Rare Candies to help power up or evolve Pokémon.
  • Costumed Pikachu wearing a Halloween hat and capelet, with a chance to encounter its Shiny version.

The Timed Research appears automatically in the game after the event begins. Players don’t need to purchase a ticket or redeem a promotional code.

However, there is an important deadline. All rewards must be claimed before November 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Any unclaimed rewards will disappear once the research expires.

Halloween Brings More Costumed Pokémon

The Halloween Part 1 event also introduces several costumed Pokémon.

Zubat appears wearing a top hat, while Sinistea receives a decorative bow. Meanwhile, Piplup and Drifblim return in their Halloween Mischief costumes.

Players can also expect increased Duskull appearances throughout the event.

Niantic has added another seasonal touch through the game’s soundtrack. A remixed version of Lavender Town’s famous theme plays during nighttime hours.

The music brings a familiar atmosphere to the Halloween celebrations, especially for longtime Pokémon fans.

Mega Chandelure Arrives on Halloween

Halloween itself will feature a Super Mega Raid Day on October 31.

The event introduces Mega Chandelure, giving players another powerful Mega Evolution to pursue.

Chandelure is already known for its strong offensive capabilities. Its Mega Evolution could become an interesting addition to raid teams, particularly for players who focus on Ghost-type attackers.

The event also gives players another reason to participate in raids during Halloween weekend.

Halloween Part 2 Introduces New Shiny Pokémon

The celebrations continue on November 1 with Halloween Part 2.

This portion introduces Shiny versions of Greavard and Houndstone. Both Pokémon originally joined Pokémon GO in 2023.

Shiny collectors will have another opportunity to expand their collections as the Halloween event enters its final stage.

The addition also gives returning players a reason to revisit Pokémon they may have already captured.

Twilight Trails Season Continues Expanding Pokémon GO

Halloween is only one part of the ongoing Twilight Trails season.

The season has already introduced several Pokémon and additional forms, including Maschiff, Mabosstiff, Bramblin, and seven Core Minior forms.

Mega Staraptor has also joined the game, expanding the selection of available Mega Evolutions.

These additions continue to give players new collection goals throughout the season.

November Already Has More Rewards Planned

Pokémon GO players won’t have to wait long for additional events after Halloween.

Pawniard Community Day is scheduled for November 21, 2026. The event will give players more opportunities to encounter Pawniard and work toward its evolutions.

Meanwhile, November’s GO Pass will offer several rewards, including:

  • 400 PokéCoins
  • A Lucky Egg
  • An encounter with Groudon

These rewards provide another incentive to remain active as the game approaches the final months of 2026.

Don’t Forget to Claim Your Free Rewards

Halloween 2026 offers plenty of activities for Pokémon GO players, but the free Timed Research deserves particular attention.

Six Rare Candies can be useful for strengthening rare Pokémon, while the costumed Pikachu offers a seasonal collectible.

Players interested in either reward should claim everything before the November 1 deadline.

With Mega Chandelure, new Shiny Pokémon, and November events approaching, Pokémon GO has plenty planned for the coming weeks.
