Sony has officially revealed the October 2026 lineup for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. Subscribers can look forward to nine additional games, including Mafia: The Old Country, Horizon Forbidden West, and Dino Crisis 2.
The new selection offers a mixture of open-world adventures, horror, action, racing, and classic gaming experiences. However, Sony will once again spread the releases across multiple dates rather than making everything available simultaneously.
Most games will arrive on October 20, while several titles will become available earlier or later depending on the region.
PlayStation Plus Extra Games for October 2026
Seven games will join the PlayStation Plus Extra Game Catalog this month.
Here is the complete lineup for European subscribers:
- Mafia: The Old Country (PS5) – October 20
- Horizon Forbidden West (PS5, PS4) – October 20
- Mycopunk (PS5) – October 20
- Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 (PS5, PS4) – October 20
- The Midnight Walk (PS5) – October 20
- Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition (PS5, PS4) – October 20
- Monster Energy Supercross 25: The Official Video Game (PS5) – October 20
While European players receive the complete Extra selection on October 20, certain games have different release dates elsewhere.
For example, The Midnight Walk became available in the United States and United Kingdom on October 14. Meanwhile, Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, Tales of Arise, and Monster Energy Supercross 25 arrive on October 27 in those regions.
Mafia: The Old Country Leads the October Lineup
One of the biggest additions is Mafia: The Old Country, which takes players back to early 20th-century Sicily.
Unlike the modern settings of some previous Mafia games, this entry explores the origins of organized crime through a story focused on loyalty, betrayal, and survival.
Players experience the dangerous criminal underworld while navigating conflicts between powerful families.
For subscribers who have yet to experience the game, its arrival offers another opportunity to explore the Mafia franchise.
Horizon Forbidden West Makes Its Return
Another major addition is Horizon Forbidden West.
Guerrilla Games’ open-world adventure follows Aloy as she explores dangerous territories filled with mechanical creatures, ancient mysteries, and new threats.
The game previously appeared on PlayStation Plus before leaving the service in 2024.
Its return gives subscribers another opportunity to experience one of PlayStation’s major first-party adventures without purchasing it separately.
However, players should remember that access through the Game Catalog depends on maintaining an eligible subscription and the title remaining available.
Mycopunk Arrives on Day One
October also brings Mycopunk, a cooperative first-person shooter that joins the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on its console launch day.
Players work together against dangerous fungal enemies using futuristic weapons and unusual combat abilities.
The game emphasizes cooperative action, allowing teams to experiment with different equipment and strategies.
Day-one additions remain an interesting part of PlayStation Plus, particularly when they introduce games that subscribers might otherwise overlook.
PlayStation Plus Premium Gets Two More Games
Premium subscribers receive access to everything included in Extra, alongside two additional titles.
The October 2026 Premium lineup includes:
- Dino Crisis 2 (PS5, PS4) – October 20
- RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition (PS5, PS4) – October 20
Dino Crisis 2 Brings Back Dinosaur Survival
Capcom’s Dino Crisis 2 returns through the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog.
Originally released for the first PlayStation, the survival-action game follows Regina and Dylan as they battle dangerous prehistoric creatures.
Compared with the original Dino Crisis, the sequel places greater emphasis on action, larger enemy encounters, and a wider variety of environments.
Its arrival should interest longtime PlayStation fans who remember the franchise from its earlier console generations.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Returns
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition offers something completely different.
Players can design amusement parks, construct roller coasters, manage finances, hire employees, and keep visitors entertained.
The Complete Edition includes additional content, providing more attractions and park-building possibilities.
For players who prefer management and simulation games, this addition offers a welcome alternative to October’s action-heavy selection.
Additional Premium Game Trials Arrive October 20
Sony has also announced two additional game trials for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers.
Starting October 20, eligible members can try:
- Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy
- Mortal Shell II
These trials allow subscribers to experience the games before deciding whether to purchase them.
Are October’s PlayStation Plus Games Worth Playing?
October delivers a varied selection, with Mafia: The Old Country and Horizon Forbidden West serving as the biggest attractions.
Mycopunk also deserves attention because of its day-one arrival, while Dino Crisis 2 provides another nostalgic addition to the Classics Catalog.
Nevertheless, subscribers should remember that PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games are not permanently owned. Sony can remove titles from the catalog, even while players maintain active subscriptions.
The October lineup offers plenty of variety, but whether it justifies the subscription price ultimately depends on how many of these games players intend to experience.
All nine games will be available to European subscribers from October 20, 2026.
