Pokémon GO Confirms Minior Debut With Meteor Shower Events

Pokémon GO is finally adding Minior to the game, but catching every version will take some patience. The Rock/Flying-type Pokémon will debut through a series of limited-time events tied to real-world meteor showers.

The first event begins on October 19, 2026. However, Niantic plans to spread Minior’s different Core forms across several events. The schedule stretches all the way into August 2027.

Minior Finally Comes to Pokémon GO

Minior originally appeared in Pokémon Sun and Moon as part of Generation 7. While Pokémon GO started introducing Alolan Pokémon several years ago, a handful of creatures from the region have remained unavailable.

That list has continued to shrink throughout 2026. Mimikyu joined the game earlier this year, while the Mythical Pokémon Zeraora made its debut during GO Fest 2026: Global.

Minior is now next in line.

Instead of introducing every version at once, Pokémon GO will connect Minior’s arrival to a new series of events called Minior Showers. These events will take place alongside major real-world meteor showers.

Pokémon GO Minior Showers Schedule

Players will have six different event periods to watch between October 2026 and August 2027:

  • Orionids: October 19 at 5:00 PM – October 24 at 11:59 PM
  • Leonids: November 14 at 5:00 PM – November 19 at 11:59 PM
  • Geminids: December 11 at 5:00 PM – December 16 at 11:59 PM
  • Eta Aquariids: May 3 at 5:00 PM – May 8 at 11:59 PM
  • Southern Delta Aquariids: July 28 at 5:00 PM – August 2 at 11:59 PM
  • Perseids: August 10 at 5:00 PM – August 15 at 11:59 PM

The first Minior Shower therefore arrives alongside the Orionids later this month.

Seven Minior Core Forms Are Coming

Minior stands out because of its different Core colors. There are seven Core forms in total, and Pokémon GO plans to introduce them gradually through the Minior Shower events.

However, the developer has not revealed which color will appear during each meteor shower. Players looking to collect every Minior form will therefore need to keep an eye on future event announcements.

The December Geminids event will also work differently from the others.

Two Minior Core forms will become available during that event. One will appear exclusively in the Northern Hemisphere, while the other will be restricted to the Southern Hemisphere.

That regional split could make the Geminids event especially important for collectors trying to obtain every version.

Minior Events Will Continue Into 2027

The rollout will not end in 2026. After the December event, Minior Showers will return in May 2027 with the Eta Aquariids.

Further events will follow during the Southern Delta Aquariids in July and the Perseids in August. The final currently announced event ends on August 15, 2027.

Connecting Minior to real meteor showers also fits the Pokémon particularly well. In the mainline games, Minior lives in the upper atmosphere before falling toward the planet.

Players will have their first opportunity to add Minior to their Pokédex when the Orionids Minior Shower begins on October 19 at 5:00 PM.
