A new Zelda Switch 2 leak claims Nintendo is developing a special-edition console to celebrate The Legend of Zelda’s 40th anniversary. While Nintendo has not officially confirmed the hardware, multiple insiders believe a themed Nintendo Switch 2 and matching Pro Controller are currently in development.
If the leak proves accurate, Zelda fans could soon have another collector’s console to add to their collection, continuing Nintendo’s long tradition of releasing limited-edition Zelda hardware.

The Legend of Zelda has received numerous special-edition consoles throughout Nintendo’s history. From the Game Boy Advance SP to the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch OLED, Zelda-themed systems have become some of the company’s most popular collector’s items.
Many of these consoles feature gold finishes, Triforce artwork, Hylian symbols, and other iconic designs inspired by the franchise. With The Legend of Zelda celebrating its 40th anniversary, many fans expected Nintendo to release another collector’s edition.

Zelda Switch 2 Leak Comes From Well-Known Insiders
The latest rumor comes from insiders Shpeshal_Nick and Necrolipe, who claim Nintendo is preparing a Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2.
Earlier rumors suggested the console would focus on the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake. However, newer information indicates Nintendo has shifted its focus toward celebrating the franchise’s 40th anniversary instead.
Nintendo has not revealed the console, and no images have leaked online. Because of that, nobody knows what the Zelda Switch 2 will actually look like.
Zelda 40th Anniversary Pro Controller Also Reportedly Planned
The leak also mentions a special Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller.
According to the report, the controller features:
- Black body.
- Green handles or tips.
- Gold accents.
- A gold Triforce logo between the – and + buttons.
Whether this controller will be sold separately or bundled with the Zelda Switch 2 remains unknown.
Will the Zelda Switch 2 Include Ocarina of Time Remake?
One of the biggest questions surrounding the rumored console is whether Nintendo plans to bundle it with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake.
Earlier speculation connected the hardware directly to the remake. The newest leak, however, suggests the console celebrates Zelda’s anniversary rather than one specific game.
That does not rule out a bundle. Nintendo has paired limited-edition hardware with major first-party releases before, making an Ocarina of Time Remake bundle a realistic possibility.
For now, fans will have to wait for an official announcement.
