A fresh wave of alleged leaks surrounding Pokémon’s Generation 10 games, Pokemon Winds and Waves, has surfaced online, revealing what could be one of the biggest shake-ups in the franchise’s history. While none of the information has been officially confirmed by Nintendo or Game Freak, the latest claims come from a leaker with a history of accurately revealing Pokémon-related information ahead of official announcements.
If the leaks are accurate, Pokemon Winds and Waves could introduce an enormous roster of new creatures, expanded online functionality, brand-new battle forms, and a story that aims to be more personal than previous entries.
Leaks claim over 500 Pokemon will be available
According to the latest information, Pokemon Winds and Waves will feature a 530-Pokemon Pokedex, with approximately 300 brand-new species making their debut.
That would make Generation 10 by far the largest Pokémon generation ever created. For comparison:
- Generation 1 introduced 151 Pokémon.
- Generation 5 introduced 156 Pokémon, currently the largest generation.
- Winds and Waves would nearly double that record if the rumors prove true.
It remains unclear whether the reported 300 new additions include alternate forms and regional variants or if they refer exclusively to entirely new Pokémon.
Several new Pokemon reportedly revealed
Earlier leaks from the same source reportedly showcased seven previously unseen Pokémon.
Among the rumored newcomers are:
- A three-stage pseudo-Legendary based on a Komodo dragon that eventually grows wings and breathes fire.
- A pirate-inspired bird Pokémon.
- A tapir Pokémon.
- A sniper-themed echidna.
- A boxing-inspired kangaroo Pokémon.
- Two possible version-exclusive Pokémon based on the sun and moon.
These designs have not been officially confirmed.
New forms and regional evolutions
The leaks also claim several existing Pokémon will receive entirely new battle forms tied to Generation 10’s new battle mechanic.
The Pokémon reportedly receiving special forms include:
- Pikachu
- Arcanine
- Kecleon
- Lucario
- Seven brand-new Generation 10 Pokémon
In addition, Salandit is rumored to receive a cross-generation evolution that changes its typing to Poison/Dragon.
There are also claims that players will obtain their Legendary Pokémon relatively early in the adventure, with those Legendary Pokémon transforming into their true forms later in the story.
MMO-inspired online features return
Online functionality is also rumored to receive significant upgrades.
According to the leaks, Pokemon Winds and Waves will feature MMO-lite elements, allowing players to interact in shared online spaces. Similar ideas were previously mentioned in documents leaked during last year’s Teraleak, which referenced a multiplayer lobby located at the starting island’s hotel.
However, the newest information suggests many of the originally planned procedural generation systems and larger MMO ambitions have since been scaled back.
Instead, those concepts may reportedly be evolving into a completely separate Pokémon project set across the classic Japanese-inspired regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh.
Story details and familiar faces
The leaks also describe a campaign featuring three main story paths, similar to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, while aiming to deliver what insiders describe as the franchise’s “most personable” narrative so far.
One unexpected claim is that Lt. Surge’s son will appear during the adventure while using his father’s iconic Raichu. Whether that Raichu plays a larger role or gains access to a new form remains unknown.
Voice acting may have been removed
One interesting detail suggests that full voice acting was originally planned during development but is absent from the development builds currently circulating among leakers.
The reports also claim many developers have already transitioned to working on the game’s post-launch downloadable content.
Take every rumor with caution
Although several recent Pokémon leaks have later proven accurate, none of the information surrounding Pokemon Winds and Waves has been officially confirmed.
Until Nintendo and Game Freak formally reveal Generation 10, every leaked feature, Pokémon, mechanic, and story detail should be treated as speculation rather than fact.
