Battlefield 6 XP Boost Error Frustrates Players Again After Second Messaging Mix-Up

Battlefield 6 players are once again voicing their frustration after EA accidentally displayed incorrect information about XP Boosts for the second time in less than a month. The repeated mistake has fueled criticism from players who already feel the game’s post-launch support has struggled with bugs and underwhelming seasonal updates.

Some fans even activated saved XP Boosts after reading the in-game message, only to discover the feature had not actually changed.

Battlefield 6 Repeats the Same XP Boost Messaging Error

The confusion first appeared with Title Update 1.3.2.0 on June 9. The update included an in-game description stating that XP Boost timers would now count down using in-game time instead of real-world time. That would have allowed players to pause their boosts whenever they logged off, something the Battlefield community has requested since launch.

Shortly after players noticed the change, Battlefield Comms clarified that the message was incorrect. The feature had not been implemented, and XP Boosts continued to expire in real-world time.

Unfortunately, the exact same situation happened again with Title Update 1.3.3.0 on June 30. The same description briefly appeared before the studio once again confirmed that it had been added by mistake.

Players Lose XP Boosts After Misleading Description

The repeated error created more than simple confusion. Several players reportedly activated banked XP Boosts after reading the updated description, expecting the timer to pause while they were offline.

Instead, the boosts continued counting down in real time, causing some players to lose valuable XP Boost duration without receiving the benefit they expected.

That has led to fresh criticism across social media, with many fans questioning how the same mistake could appear twice within weeks.

Battlefield Community Growing More Frustrated

Battlefield 6 has faced criticism since its launch in late 2025. While EA has released three seasonal updates—including Season 3, which brought back the fan-favorite Golmud Railway map—many players continue to argue that updates have felt too small compared to the number of bugs still affecting the game.

The repeated XP Boost messaging issue has only added to those concerns. For many players, it is no longer just about one incorrect description but about confidence in future updates and communication.

Could an XP Boost Rework Still Be Coming?

Although EA confirmed that no XP Boost changes are currently active, Battlefield Comms has acknowledged player feedback on the feature.

That has led some community members to believe the in-game text may have been intended for a future update that accidentally went live early. While that remains speculation, many players hope EA eventually changes XP Boosts to use in-game time instead of real-world timers.

Season 4 is expected to begin at the end of July, making it the most likely opportunity for EA to announce whether the requested improvement is finally on the way.

Repeated Mistakes Hurt Player Trust

Mistakes happen during live service development, but repeating the exact same error within a single month has damaged player confidence. After two nearly identical incidents, Battlefield 6 players are now looking for more than apologies—they want clear communication and a working solution.

With Season 4 approaching, EA has an opportunity to address one of the community’s most requested quality-of-life improvements and begin rebuilding trust with its player base.
