Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Hisuian Starter Raid Series Nears Its End

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players are about to receive one final opportunity to add another rare Hisuian starter to their collection. Beginning on June 25, trainers will be able to challenge a special 7-Star Tera Raid featuring Hisuian Decidueye the Unrivaled, marking the final entry in the game’s lengthy Hisuian starter event series.

Final Chapter of the 30-Week Event Series

The Hisuian starter raid schedule began in January and has stretched across 30 weeks. Hisuian Decidueye’s appearance serves as the last chapter of that journey, giving collectors and competitive players one final chance to obtain one of these exclusive Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The event is scheduled to begin on June 25 at approximately 4:00 PM PT / 7:00 PM ET and will remain active until July 2. As with previous 7-Star events, trainers will encounter the special Pokemon in Black Crystal Tera Raids.

Unlike many other species, the Hisuian starters cannot be obtained naturally in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, nor can they be transferred from Pokemon Legends: Arceus. This means the raid events have become the only way to obtain these variants within Generation 9, making them especially valuable for collectors and players preparing teams for Pokemon Champions.

Hisuian Decidueye Comes With the Mightiest Mark

Players who defeat the raid boss will encounter Hisuian Decidueye the Unrivaled. The Pokemon arrives with a Grass Tera Type and features six perfect IVs, making it an attractive addition for trainers seeking a powerful battler.

Like other Mightiest Mark events, players can only capture the Pokemon once. Trainers who already own this special Decidueye may still participate in the raid to earn rewards, but they will not be able to catch a second copy.

Defeating the boss also provides a chance to earn valuable materials, including Herba Mystica.

Recommended Counters

The battle is expected to be challenging, and players must first unlock 7-Star raids by completing the Academy Tournament in the postgame and participating in several high-level raids until receiving a phone call from Jacq.

Two Pokemon stand out as reliable counters:

Skeledirge

Skeledirge remains one of the strongest options thanks to its Unaware ability, which ignores stat boosts used by opponents. Since Hisuian Decidueye uses Bulk Up early in the fight to increase its Attack, Skeledirge can effectively bypass those bonuses and maintain control of the battle.

Ceruledge

Ceruledge is another powerful choice capable of dealing significant damage while maintaining survivability throughout the encounter.

More Hisuian Starters Are Still Coming

Although Hisuian Decidueye concludes the starter-focused event series, two additional Hisuian starters will return shortly afterward.

  • Hisuian Typhlosion returns on July 2.
  • Hisuian Samurott follows on July 9.

These appearances will give players another opportunity to obtain previous Mightiest Mark starters they may have missed.

Generation 9 Support Is Beginning to Slow Down

The Hisuian raids arrive as support for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gradually winds down. Competitive attention has increasingly shifted toward Pokemon Champions, which has already hosted several major events, including Regionals, the North America International Championships, and the World Championship.

With Pokemon Winds and Waves planned for 2027, many trainers view these raids as one of the final major celebrations for Generation 9 before the series moves into its next era.
