After a long wait and tons of community speculation, The Fun Pimps have finally dropped a hefty status update for the Storm’s Brewing V2.0 update for 7 Days to Die. While it’s taken longer than expected, the content-packed build is shaping up to be one of the biggest updates yet.
The Steam Experimental release is currently targeting April 15, with a Stable release across all platforms expected in early May – assuming all goes according to plan.
Important: This is not the full changelog. Many features are still being finalized or may not make the cut in time. A complete breakdown will be shared by the fun pimps closer to launch.
🔥 V2.0 Storm’s Brewing – Major Features & Changes
🌍 Biome Progression & Elemental Survival
Surviving the world just got more intense! The new biome progression system introduces elemental hazards like smoke, heat, cold, and radiation, requiring players to:
- Progress through biomes in order of difficulty
- Craft consumables to boost temporary resistance
- Complete challenges to unlock permanent immunity
- Experience new HUD visuals, SFX, and VFX
- Face new elemental biome zombies, including the Desert Plague Spitter
- Play with custom or classic survival styles
🧠 Perk Overhaul & General Tab
A major rebalance has hit the perks system with some exciting additions:
- All attributes now include 10 perks
- Each perk has 5 upgrade levels
- A Mastery Perk Set for every attribute
- A new General tab for perks without attribute requirements
- Introduction of the Sledgehammer Saga book series
⚡ High Gamestage Zombies Incoming
Say hello (or goodbye) to new high-tier zombie archetypes:
- Charged Blue and Infernal Orange zombies
- More intense late-game threats with unique behaviors
- Expands on the Radiated Zombie system
🌲 Foliage & Tree Optimization
Performance meets immersion with updates including:
- Reworked Speed Tree shaders for better FPS
- Visual upgrades to burnt and wasteland trees
- New sub-biome foliage system for natural forest transitions and optimized rendering
🧟♀️ Crawl Out Zombies
Zombies can now crawl out of 1-meter spaces and under low ceilings for more terrifying surprises.
- Improved enemy spawn tools
- Large POIs have been reworked to support this new system without sacrificing performance
🗺 Navezgane Gets an Upgrade
The iconic map gets a facelift:
- Enhanced biome boundaries and trader placement
- Better flow between towns and POIs
- Seamless integration with the new elemental biome system
🏚 50+ New POIs & Remnants
The world of 7 Days is expanding again:
- Over 50 new POIs planned
- Better wilderness variety and performance-friendly remnants
- Updated POIs with optimized layouts and zombie crawlouts
👟 Audio Enhancements
- Footsteps are now unique and location-aware for a more immersive survival experience
🧥 Cosmetics, Twitch Drops & DLC
- Wear armor for stats, but look how you want with cosmetic overrides
- New cosmetic DLCs and Twitch Drops are on the way
🧭 Random Gen World Improvements
- Improved wilderness spawning and POI placement
- Better wilderness road generation for smoother exploration
🗺 New Quest Marker System
- Each quest now has a custom quest flag for easier navigation and immersion
👫 Spawn Near Friend Feature
- Starting a new world? Choose a friend to spawn near – perfect for co-op!
- Added a main menu return button for smoother lobby navigation
