Treyarch, the developer of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, has confirmed an ongoing investigation into a critical issue that surfaced following the November 21 update. This bug has caused player profile data to reset in both multiplayer and Zombies modes, leaving many fans frustrated.
The Update That Sparked the Problem
The November 21 update introduced several highly anticipated features, including the Hit List event and refreshed multiplayer playlists. The Hit List event offers players a chance to complete contracts and earn exclusive rewards such as perks, calling cards, and emblems across multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone. Additionally, 10v10 Moshpit and Hardcore 10v10 Moshpit were added to the weekly playlist update, alongside several minor bug fixes.
However, this update also unintentionally caused profile data to reset, impacting solo game saves in Zombies and multiplayer profiles. While player challenges and progression remain intact, the loss of saved data has forced some players to restart their Zombies sessions from round 1, sparking outrage within the community.
Treyarch’s Response
In response to the growing concerns, Treyarch issued two updates via Twitter, confirming that an investigation is underway. They have also assured players that:
- Multiplayer and Zombies challenges, as well as player progression, are unaffected.
- Weapon leveling and mastery camo unlocks remain functional.
To help players stay informed, Treyarch has created two new Trello cards under their “Known Issues” section, where users can monitor the status of the bug fixes. Patch notes for upcoming updates will also provide additional details.
Community Frustration Continues
The data reset issue isn’t the only concern troubling Black Ops 6 players. Shortly after the launch of Ranked Play with the November 20 update, reports of hackers and cheaters bypassing the game’s anti-cheat system have emerged. Ranked Play, a mode designed for the most competitive players, has seen an influx of bad actors, further straining player trust in Treyarch’s systems.
What’s Next?
Treyarch has not yet provided a timeline for the release of a fix for the data reset bug. However, with Season 1 in full swing, players can expect the development team to prioritize addressing these critical issues in future updates.
For now, Black Ops 6 fans will need to rely on Trello cards and official patch notes for updates on progress. While Treyarch works to resolve the data reset issue and improve the anti-cheat system, the community’s patience is being tested as they await smoother gameplay experiences.
