BREAKING: Unity Announces Subscription Price Hike for 2025

Unity has revealed a new set of price increases slated to take effect in 2025, impacting its subscription model for developers. Unity Pro, one of the company’s most popular subscription plans, will see its cost rise from $2,040 to $2,200 per seat, while Unity Enterprise customers will face a 25% increase in their subscription fees next year.

Despite the price hike, there is some positive news for smaller developers. When Unity 6 launches, the revenue cap for Unity Personal, the free-tier version of the engine, will double from $100,000 to $200,000, providing more breathing room for indie studios before they are required to upgrade to a paid plan.

Unity has also confirmed that subscription pricing will now be revisited annually, meaning developers should prepare for regular, incremental increases moving forward. While this could still raise concerns for some developers, the shift to a predictable pricing model may make it easier for studios to integrate these changes into their financial planning.

With the dust only just settling after the cancellation of Unity’s controversial Runtime Fee, it remains to be seen how the development community will react to this new round of price adjustments.
