Cyberpunk 2077 Gets Another Update, but It Leaves Players Waiting for Important Fixes

CD Projekt RED has released another update for Cyberpunk 2077, arriving less than a week after the massive Patch 2.5 introduced new content and gameplay features. However, players expecting another round of improvements might be disappointed, as the latest download addresses just one specific problem.

The new hotfix, version 2.500.200, arrived on October 27, 2026. Although the update is available across multiple regions, its purpose is surprisingly limited. Rather than addressing the various technical complaints that emerged after Patch 2.5, CD Projekt RED has focused on a save data issue affecting players in Argentina.

For everyone else, the update offers little reason to get excited.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.500.200 Fixes a Regional Save Data Issue

According to CD Projekt RED, the latest hotfix resolves an issue that prevented certain players in Argentina from accessing their saved game data.

The developer explained that the nature of the correction requires the update to be distributed to players outside the affected region as well. However, the download does not introduce additional changes or improvements for those players.

The update weighs approximately 1GB, with some PlayStation 5 users reporting a download size closer to 1.2GB.

While restoring access to saved games is important, the limited scope of this hotfix has left several other reported problems untouched. Players experiencing performance difficulties, graphical glitches, or crashes following Patch 2.5 will need to wait for further fixes.

Patch 2.5 Introduced New Content but Also Sparked Complaints

Cyberpunk 2077 received its substantial Edgerunners 2 Update on October 22, introducing several additions inspired by the Netflix anime series.

Among the highlights were new side quests, expanded character customization, additional clothing options, and a new radio station featuring music from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

The update also introduced dual-wielding for certain pistols and revolvers, allowing players to experiment with a different combat style. Console players gained access to mod support, opening up additional customization possibilities previously associated primarily with the PC version.

Unfortunately, the update has not been entirely smooth for everyone.

Some players have reported crashes, unexpected performance drops, missing quest markers, and graphical problems. Others have encountered difficulties launching the game or experienced issues with modifications that previously worked correctly.

PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro players have also raised concerns about HDR quality, inconsistent frame pacing, and visual artifacts in certain rendering modes.

These complaints come from player reports and do not necessarily represent problems experienced by the entire community. Nevertheless, they highlight areas that could benefit from further attention.

CD Projekt RED Still Has Work Ahead

Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone an extraordinary transformation since its troubled launch in December 2020. Years of updates, technical improvements, and additional content have helped rebuild the game’s reputation.

The recent Edgerunners 2 Update demonstrates that CD Projekt RED continues to support Night City, even as the studio works on other projects.

However, major updates can introduce unexpected complications, especially in a game with so many interconnected systems.

The latest hotfix shows that the developer is still addressing technical issues, although its narrow focus means it should not be mistaken for a broader stability patch.

For players affected by the Argentine save data problem, update 2.500.200 provides an important correction. For everyone else, the experience should remain largely unchanged.

What’s Next for Cyberpunk 2077?

CD Projekt RED has not confirmed when another hotfix will arrive or which reported problems might receive priority.

With Patch 2.5 introducing substantial new features, additional technical adjustments would not be surprising. However, there is currently no confirmed timetable for further corrections.

For now, players can continue exploring the new Edgerunners content while waiting to see how the developer responds to the remaining complaints.

Cyberpunk 2077 may have come a long way since 2020, but even after nearly six years, Night City apparently still has a few bugs hiding in its streets.
