Xbox Just Made 4 Games FREE This Weekend — Play Them Before September 6

Xbox players have four more games to check out this weekend as Microsoft launches another round of Free Play Days. The latest selection includes sports, survival, action RPG, and narrative adventure games, with the promotion ending on September 6, 2026.

This weekend’s lineup features EA Sports College Football 27, The Survivalists, The Lonesome Guild, and Under the Waves.

Access differs between the four games, so players should check the requirements before jumping in.

Xbox Free Play Days Games This Weekend

The four games available during the latest promotion are:

  • EA Sports College Football 27
  • The Survivalists
  • The Lonesome Guild
  • Under the Waves

EA Sports College Football 27 is available to all Xbox players during the promotion without requiring an Xbox Game Pass membership.

The Survivalists is available through Free Play Days for players with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential.

Meanwhile, The Lonesome Guild and Under the Waves can also be tried without a Game Pass membership, although both are limited to two-hour timed trials.

EA Sports College Football 27 Is Free This Weekend

The biggest game included this weekend is EA Sports College Football 27.

Xbox players can access the game for free throughout the promotional period without needing an eligible Game Pass subscription.

That gives players several days to jump onto the field and experience the latest entry before deciding whether they want to purchase it.

Progress made during Free Play Days can carry over when purchasing the game afterward. Achievements and Gamerscore earned during the free period are also retained.

The Survivalists Joins Xbox Free Play Days

Team17’s The Survivalists is another game included in the promotion.

Set in the same universe as The Escapists, the game drops players onto a procedurally generated island where survival depends on gathering resources, crafting equipment, constructing a base, and exploring the surrounding environment.

Players can also train monkeys to perform different jobs, allowing some of the repetitive survival work to be automated.

Unlike EA Sports College Football 27, however, an eligible Xbox Game Pass membership is required to access The Survivalists through Free Play Days.

Try The Lonesome Guild for Free

Action RPG The Lonesome Guild is also part of this weekend’s lineup.

Players explore the world of Etere while building relationships between a group of unlikely heroes. Combat, exploration, puzzles, and character interactions all form part of the adventure.

Xbox players can try the game without Game Pass during the promotion.

However, access is limited to a two-hour trial.

That should still provide enough time to get an impression of its combat and world before deciding whether the full game is worth purchasing.

Under the Waves Gets a Free Trial

The fourth game available this weekend is Under the Waves.

Developed by Parallel Studio, the narrative adventure follows professional diver Stan as he works deep beneath the North Sea.

The game combines underwater exploration with a story focused heavily on isolation, loss, and Stan’s increasingly unusual experiences beneath the surface.

Like The Lonesome Guild, Xbox players can access a two-hour trial without requiring Game Pass.

Free Play Days Ends September 6

Xbox’s latest Free Play Days promotion runs until September 6, 2026, meaning players only have a limited amount of time to take advantage of the offer.

The games aren’t permanently added to your Xbox library.

Once the promotion ends, players will need to purchase the games or access them through an eligible subscription if they want to continue playing.

Any progress and achievements earned during the promotional period can be retained when purchasing the corresponding game.

With four very different games included this time around, there’s at least something worth checking out regardless of whether you’re interested in sports, survival games, action RPGs, or story-driven adventures.

Just make sure you jump in before September 6.
