CarX Street Adds Drag Racing, 7 New Cars and Midnight Rush DLC

CarX Street is getting one of its biggest content expansions yet, bringing drag racing, a permanent Street Pass system, new cars, character customization, carbon parts, turbofans, and an entirely new region to the street racing game.

Alongside the free additions, the Midnight Rush DLC introduces the Sunset Bay region, three additional cars, and the new Zero Yon Drag Club. Several multiplayer improvements and bug fixes are also included.

Drag Racing Arrives in CarX Street

One of the biggest additions is the introduction of Drag Races.

Unlike traditional races, where cornering ability and racing lines can decide the winner, drag racing puts the focus firmly on acceleration, tuning, reaction time, and outright power.

Players will need to warm up their tires before watching for the starting signal and launching down the straight. Proper tuning could make the difference between victory and watching another driver’s taillights disappear into the distance.

The Cold Start and Zero Yon club bosses will provide additional challenges for players who want to prove that their builds are among the fastest in CarX Street.

Street Pass Introduces Permanent Progression

CarX Street is also introducing Street Pass, a permanent quest and progression system connected to STREET.NET.

Players can complete daily and weekly challenges to earn experience, increase their Street Pass level, and unlock rewards.

Importantly, Street Pass progression does not have a time limit. Players don’t need to worry about losing their progress simply because they didn’t finish everything within a few weeks.

This should make the system considerably more forgiving for players who can’t log into CarX Street every day.

Street Pass: Stage 1 Adds Four Cars

The first Street Pass stage launches with four new vehicles.

TAL is a rear-wheel-drive sports sedan designed as a strong foundation for custom builds. It offers plenty of tuning potential for players who enjoy transforming relatively ordinary cars into serious street machines.

DN2 takes a different approach. It’s lightweight, compact, and responsive, rewarding players who can maintain speed through corners rather than simply relying on horsepower.

MF1 is a legendary supercar powered by a naturally aspirated V12. Its central driving position makes it one of the most distinctive additions to the update. The MF1 is included with Premium Street Pass: Stage 1.

Finally, CC8 brings a mid-engine layout and powerful V8 together in a sports car designed to perform both through corners and on long straights. The CC8 is also part of Premium Street Pass: Stage 1.

Carbon Parts and Turbofans Expand Car Customization

Customization is getting another major expansion.

The Styling Shop now includes a new collection of rare carbon parts, allowing players to further change the appearance of their vehicles.

CarX Street is also introducing Turbofans. The first collection includes six special wheel designs featuring an unusual infinite-depth visual effect.

Street Pass: Stage 1 additionally includes new shifters, livery packs, license plates, rare sidewalls, and other customization rewards.

The 35R is also receiving a new body kit.

Player Profiles Can Now Be Customized

Cars aren’t the only thing players can customize anymore.

CarX Street now allows players to personalize their STREET.NET profiles with banners and titles. Achievements can also be displayed through the profile system, giving other players a better look at what someone has accomplished.

Character customization is expanding as well.

Players can change their driver’s appearance with different clothing and accessories, adding another layer of personalization outside the garage.

Midnight Rush DLC Opens Sunset Bay

The paid Midnight Rush DLC introduces an entirely new area called Sunset Bay.

Sunset Bay is described as a spacious port region featuring wide roads and lengthy straights. That makes it particularly suitable for high-speed builds and the newly introduced drag racing mechanics.

Active roadwork zones will add some variety to the environment as players explore the new region.

Three New Cars Join Midnight Rush

Midnight Rush adds another three vehicles to CarX Street.

31R is an old-school rear-wheel-drive platform with significant customization and tuning potential.

BGX is a recognizable street racing-style machine featuring an angular design and turbocharged performance.

TSR takes the gran turismo approach, combining comfort with substantial tuning possibilities.

Together with the four Street Pass vehicles, the update and DLC introduce seven new cars in total.

Zero Yon Drag Club Challenges Players

Sunset Bay also introduces the Zero Yon Drag Club.

Players will eventually face club boss Goro Kogane, with the challenge focusing on one simple question: who has the fastest car on the straight?

With drag racing now becoming a dedicated part of CarX Street, players who previously focused almost entirely on grip, drifting, or top-speed builds may have another reason to start experimenting with their garages.

Runlist Gets Anti-Ramming Protection

CarX Technologies is also addressing multiplayer behavior.

Runlist now features anti-ramming protection during high-speed collisions, which should reduce the impact of players deliberately attempting to ruin races by smashing into opponents.

Traffic synchronization and multiplayer synchronization have also been improved in Runlist mode.

These changes could be particularly important for competitive races, where synchronization issues or intentional collisions can quickly destroy an otherwise good race.

Several Technical Problems Have Been Fixed

The update includes a smaller collection of technical fixes as well.

An issue that could prevent CarX Street from launching when certain magnetic switch keyboards were connected has been fixed.

The CarX Workshop Uploader has also expanded beyond Windows and is now available on Linux and macOS.

CarX Street Is Expanding Far Beyond Regular Street Racing

This update isn’t simply adding another collection of cars.

Drag racing introduces a new competitive discipline, Street Pass creates a permanent progression system, and the expanded customization options give players more ways to personalize both their vehicles and drivers.

Midnight Rush then builds on those additions with Sunset Bay, another drag club, and three additional vehicles.

For players who enjoy spending hours building, tuning, and testing cars, CarX Street just gave them considerably more reasons to return to the garage.
