Gible is officially returning to the spotlight in Pokémon GO, with the popular Dragon-type Pokémon confirmed for the next Community Day Classic. The event will take place on September 12, giving players another opportunity to hunt for Shiny Gible while building a powerful Garchomp.
The upcoming event will also introduce a new Collection Challenge that rewards Garchomp Mega Energy, making this Community Day Classic particularly useful for players who still need resources for Mega Garchomp.
Gible Community Day Classic Starts September 12
The Gible Community Day Classic will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM local time.
During those three hours, Gible will appear much more frequently in the wild. Lucky players will also have an increased opportunity to encounter its Shiny variant.
Additionally, some encounters may feature Gible with a special event background, giving collectors another reason to participate even if they already have several strong Garchomp.
This will be the first Community Day Classic of Pokémon GO’s upcoming Halloween-themed season.
Garchomp Can Learn Earth Power Again
As expected from a Community Day Classic, players will also get another opportunity to obtain Garchomp’s featured Community Day attack.
Players who evolve Gible into Gabite and then Garchomp during the event will receive a Garchomp that knows Earth Power.
Earth Power is a Ground-type Charged Attack and has historically been one of the most desirable moves available to Garchomp.
Fortunately, players will not have to complete their evolutions before the normal Community Day hours end.
The special evolution window will remain available until 9:00 PM local time, giving players an additional four hours after Gible stops appearing at its boosted Community Day rate.
New Collection Challenge Rewards Garchomp Mega Energy
September’s Community Day Classic will also feature a new Collection Challenge centered around Gible and its evolutions.
Rather than simply catching Pokémon, players will need to complete Gible’s entire evolution line during the event.
That means evolving:
- Gible into Gabite
- Gabite into Garchomp
Completing the challenge will reward players with Garchomp Mega Energy alongside additional leveling resources.
The Mega Energy could make the challenge particularly worthwhile for players who have yet to unlock Mega Garchomp or want additional energy for future Mega Evolutions.
Mega Garchomp Makes the Rewards More Valuable
Mega Garchomp remains a powerful option for players looking to strengthen their Ground-type lineup.
Its Ground typing makes it particularly useful when dealing with certain Electric-type opponents, including Electric-type Mega Pokémon such as Mega Raichu.
Combining the Mega Energy reward with the opportunity to evolve an Earth Power Garchomp means players can potentially leave the event with both a stronger Garchomp and additional resources toward its Mega Evolution.
Players who already have plenty of Garchomp can instead focus on finding better IV combinations, hunting for a Shiny or collecting one of the limited-background variants.
Gible Community Day Classic Looks Worth Revisiting
Gible has already received plenty of attention in Pokémon GO over the years, but September’s Community Day Classic gives returning and newer players several reasons to revisit the Pokémon.
Between boosted Gible spawns, Shiny opportunities, limited-background encounters, Earth Power Garchomp and Garchomp Mega Energy, the event offers considerably more than another chance to fill out the Pokédex.
The Gible Community Day Classic runs September 12 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM local time, while the special Earth Power evolution window remains active until 9:00 PM.
