StarRupture Update 2 Brings Major Factory Improvements

Creepy Jar has revealed Update 2: Quality of Life for StarRupture, with the next major Early Access update promising dozens of gameplay improvements. This time, the development team is putting a strong focus on factory building, management, and usability.

The update does not have an official release date yet. However, Creepy Jar says it is coming very soon and will launch as a free update for everyone who owns StarRupture on Steam.

StarRupture Update 2 Focuses on Factory Building

Factory construction sits at the heart of StarRupture, and Update 2 aims to make managing increasingly complicated production setups much easier.

One of the biggest additions is the ability to copy buildings together with their settings. Players will also gain a separate building settings copy-and-paste function.

These additions should reduce the repetitive work involved in expanding production lines. Instead of repeatedly configuring identical buildings, players can reuse existing setups while expanding their factories.

A new multi-deconstruct feature should make rebuilding and reorganizing large factories faster as well.

Players will also be able to deconstruct buildings without foundations, while new pillar-related construction options will provide additional freedom when designing bases.

Pillars and Platforms Get More Building Options

Update 2 will expand the possibilities available when working with pillars.

Players will be able to adjust Pillar Support height and use a new “Add Pillars” function directly from Building Mode.

Platforms will also gain the ability to snap onto the sides of Pillars.

This seemingly small addition could significantly expand the types of structures players can create, particularly when designing elevated factories, multi-level facilities, or more unusual base layouts.

The Drone Roundabout system is also receiving an overhaul.

Production Information Becomes Much Clearer

Factory management is not only about placing buildings. Players also need to understand whether their production lines are actually working efficiently.

Update 2 will introduce a production-per-minute display, providing clearer information about factory output.

The OCL package sendout rate will also become visible.

These changes should make it easier to identify production bottlenecks and determine whether individual parts of a factory need to be expanded or reorganized.

Search functionality is coming to Buildings and Storages too. As factories grow larger and inventories become increasingly crowded, the ability to quickly locate something could save players a considerable amount of time.

Custom Names Are Coming to the Map

Teleporters and Base Cores will receive support for custom names on the map.

This should become particularly useful for players operating multiple bases or large facilities. Instead of remembering locations based entirely on their position, players can give important locations recognizable names.

Custom building names and task icons will also receive visibility improvements.

More Tracking and Interface Improvements

Creepy Jar is introducing several interface features designed to provide players with more information without requiring additional manual tracking.

Abandoned Bases and Infected Bases will receive completion trackers, while Corporation level requirements will become visible through the interface.

An autosave notification is also being added, giving players a clearer indication when the game is saving progress.

Meanwhile, a new Continue button will appear on the main menu, allowing players to jump back into their latest game more quickly.

Storages will also organize items alphabetically.

New Accessibility Options

Update 2 will expand StarRupture’s accessibility and comfort settings.

Players will gain individual toggles for:

  • Headbob
  • Camera shake
  • Sprint FOV changes

Each option can be switched on or off independently.

These settings may be especially useful for players who experience discomfort from excessive camera movement or rapid field-of-view changes.

A new game cursor and a reworked Infolog are also included among the upcoming interface improvements.

More Changes Could Make Factory Management Much Smoother

Update 2 appears to be less about introducing one enormous new system and more about improving the systems players interact with throughout an entire playthrough.

That makes the Quality of Life name appropriate.

Features such as building duplication, settings copy-and-paste, multi-deconstruction, production-per-minute information, storage searching, and improved construction tools directly target repetitive parts of factory management.

Combined with production balancing and changes to Base Core upgrade costs, Update 2 could noticeably change how quickly players can construct, expand, and reorganize their factories.

Creepy Jar says the update contains both larger improvements and smaller changes to mechanics and game balance, so the announced feature list may not represent every adjustment included in the final release.

StarRupture Update 2 Release Date Coming Soon

StarRupture Update 2: Quality of Life will launch as a free update during the game’s Early Access period on Steam.

Creepy Jar has not announced an exact release date yet, although the developer says the update is coming very soon. More information about its launch is expected shortly.

For factory builders in particular, Update 2 looks set to remove a substantial amount of unnecessary micromanagement while providing more freedom to build increasingly complicated production facilities.
