After weeks of frustration, the CarX Street leaderboards are finally working again, allowing players to return to one of the game’s main competitive activities.
The problems began earlier in August, when players noticed that leaderboard races were no longer refreshing correctly. Some events remained visible on the map but displayed zeroed timers, while completed runs failed to register a score.
The issue eventually spread across multiple platforms, with reports coming from players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
Now, the situation appears to have changed. Leaderboard events are available again, bringing an end to an outage that lasted for roughly two weeks for some players.
CarX Street Leaderboards Were Broken for Weeks
The problem wasn’t simply a leaderboard displaying the wrong position.
Players reported several different symptoms.
Leaderboard events stopped refreshing, timers displayed zeros, scores weren’t being registered, and in some cases players simply had no new leaderboard races available.
By August 18, console players were reporting that they had gone approximately a week without functioning events. Several days later, PC players were still reporting similar problems.
That made the issue particularly frustrating for players who regularly use Street.net leaderboard races as their main reason to return to CarX Street.
Some affected players said they would launch the game, check whether new leaderboard races were available and immediately leave again after discovering that nothing had changed.
Leaderboard Events Are Working Again
The good news is that the leaderboard functionality has now returned.
Players can once again participate in the competitive events rather than being greeted by expired races and broken timers.
At the time of writing, however, CarX Technologies does not appear to have published a new announcement explaining what caused the extended problem or what was changed to restore the leaderboards.
That means it remains unclear whether the problem was caused by the leaderboard rotation itself, a server-side issue, the ranking system, or another technical problem.
The important part for players is much simpler: the races are back.
CarX Street’s Leaderboards Are an Important Part of the Game
Leaderboard races have become an important part of CarX Street’s endgame and competitive experience.
CarX Technologies previously expanded the system with ranked leaderboard races and different leagues, giving competitive players another progression path beyond simply purchasing and upgrading cars.
Because of that, losing the feature for several days is significantly more disruptive than a small visual bug.
For players who enjoy chasing faster times and competing for leaderboard positions, the outage effectively removed one of the reasons to continue playing regularly.
That explains why the problem continued generating complaints as the outage stretched beyond a few days.
Communication Could Have Been Better
While seeing the leaderboards return is welcome news, the situation also highlights an area where CarX Technologies could improve: communication.
Players were reporting the issue for days while trying to determine whether it was an individual account problem, a platform-specific bug, or a wider CarX Street problem.
Some attempted restarting the game or troubleshooting their installations, while others contacted CarX support directly.
A short acknowledgement that the team was aware of the leaderboard problems would have removed much of that uncertainty.
CarX Technologies has previously announced temporary leaderboard downtime when working on its ranking system, showing that communicating these disruptions is entirely possible.
Even a simple message confirming that the team was investigating the problem would have helped.
Back to the Streets
For now, CarX Street players can finally get back to competing.
After roughly two weeks of reports involving missing events, zeroed timers and scores that wouldn’t register, the return of functioning leaderboard races should come as a relief to the competitive community.
Hopefully, the next leaderboard disruption comes with considerably more communication.
For now, though, it’s time to start setting those lap times again.
