VEIN 0.025 Update Brings Performance Improvements, New Survival Features, and Bug Fixes

The latest VEIN 0.025 update moves the survival game another step closer to release. The developers spent much of early July fixing critical bugs while continuing work on new gameplay systems, vehicle improvements, better animations, and another map expansion. The update also introduces new survival mechanics that will play a much bigger role once version 0.025 launches.

VEIN 0.025 Update Fixes Critical Bugs

A large part of the VEIN 0.025 update focuses on stability. The developers fixed several long-standing issues that affected gameplay and save files.

Physics improvements solve problems with misshapen props, incorrect weapon placement angles, furniture scaling, and flag placement. The update also fixes several interface problems involving firearm attachments, item weight displays, and schematic level notifications.

Additional bug fixes include:

  • Infinite sink sounds removed.
  • Shot arrows now clean up correctly.
  • Several crashes eliminated.
  • Settings now save correctly in every supported language.
  • Translation mods no longer prevent settings from saving.

One of the biggest fixes restores stability for older save files. A previous compatibility fix accidentally caused some legacy saves to lose vehicle parts or container contents. New saves never suffered from this problem. Server owners can now use the ResetVehicleParts console command to repair affected vehicles.

VEIN 0.025 Update Improves the Medical System

The VEIN 0.025 update also expands the game’s survival mechanics through a larger medical overhaul.

Players will find two new medical items:

  • Ice Packs
  • Suture Packs

These additions support the redesigned injury and condition system currently available on the experimental branch.

Server owners also gain more control over survival settings. Hypothermia can now become fully lethal instead of only causing frostbite and related condition effects. This option allows communities to create a much harsher survival experience.

VEIN 0.025 Update Delivers Better Vehicle Performance

Vehicle networking remains one of the biggest priorities for the VEIN 0.025 update.

Alongside networking improvements, the developers significantly reduced the server performance cost of vehicles. Early testing shows vehicles now use roughly three times fewer server resources than before. Dedicated multiplayer servers should benefit the most once version 0.025 launches.

The update also adds the ability to enter and exit box trucks through the side door while continuing work on weapon sight support through a new procedural aiming system.

VEIN 0.025 Update Adds New Weapon Animations

Several firearms already use brand-new animations as part of the VEIN 0.025 update.

Recently updated weapons include:

  • Mosin-Nagant
  • Bow and Arrow
  • Remington 870

Development also continues on completely new animations for double-barrel shotguns, bladed melee weapons, and blunt melee weapons. The long-term goal is to replace nearly every existing combat animation with higher-quality custom versions.

VEIN 0.025 Update Expands the World

The next VEIN 0.025 update introduces another new region north of Franklin County.

Instead of creating another massive expansion, the developers chose a smaller area that allows new locations to arrive more often.

Current work includes:

  • New cave systems.
  • Additional building interiors.
  • Exterior environmental details.
  • A basic ski lift system.

This approach should allow future map updates to arrive at a faster pace.

VEIN 0.025 Update Introduces Building Maintenance

One of the biggest gameplay additions in the VEIN 0.025 update is a new building maintenance system.

Buildings will slowly deteriorate if players ignore them. Poor maintenance can cause several problems, including:

  • Brownouts
  • Poor insulation
  • Lower water quality
  • General building degradation

Players must repair buildings using scrap materials. On the other hand, abandoned buildings can be dismantled to recover valuable resources. The same maintenance system will eventually support player-built structures.

VEIN 0.025 Update Improves Visual Quality

The developers also continue upgrading VEIN’s visuals.

Several old building textures now appear in much higher resolution. New fence models replace older placeholder assets, while improvements to dawn, dusk, moonlight, and fog make the environment look more natural.

The goal is to modernize the game’s appearance without reducing performance.

VEIN 0.025 Update Rebuilds Vehicles and Characters

Vehicle artwork continues to receive major improvements.

Future vehicles will feature modular components, including:

  • Opening trunks
  • Functional glove boxes
  • Opening hoods
  • Animated steering wheels
  • Working gauges
  • Removable seats
  • Replaceable headlights

Development starts with roughly six vehicles, including the school bus and RV.

Meanwhile, the character overhaul continues with new hairstyles and improved player models. The team has also started integrating additional language support, including Dutch, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Swedish, Thai, Ukrainian, and Traditional Chinese.

VEIN 0.025 Update Continues Strong Progress

The VEIN 0.025 update delivers much more than bug fixes. It improves multiplayer performance, expands survival mechanics, upgrades visuals, introduces building maintenance, and continues work on new map content. While version 0.025 has not received a release date yet, this development update shows steady progress across nearly every part of the game.
