Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players have one final chance to catch this rare Pokémon

Players still missing one of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s rarest event Pokémon are running out of time. Hisuian Samurott with the Mightiest Mark will permanently leave the game on July 17, marking the end of an event series that has been running throughout 2026.

With Pokémon Winds and Waves now confirmed for a 2027 release, Generation 9 is firmly in its maintenance phase. While major content updates have slowed down, The Pokémon Company continues to host limited-time events to keep trainers returning to Paldea.

Final Hisuian starter event ends July 17

The Hisuian starter Tera Raid events first began on June 25, giving players another opportunity to battle and capture Hisuian Decidueye, Hisuian Typhlosion, and Hisuian Samurott in challenging 7-Star Tera Raids.

However, Hisuian Samurott is now entering its final days. The event officially ends on July 17 at 3:59 PM PT / 6:59 PM ET, and according to the event announcement, it will not return again after this run.

That makes this the last opportunity for trainers to add the Pokémon to their collection.

The Mightiest Mark makes it special

Unlike a standard Hisuian Samurott, the event version comes with the exclusive Mightiest Mark, awarded only to Pokémon caught during these special 7-Star Tera Raid events.

Throughout 2026, Game Freak revisited every starter Pokémon from previous generations, offering them one final appearance with the Mightiest Mark. Earlier events featured starters from Kanto through Hisui, with Hisuian Samurott closing the chapter on the entire series.

Because Game Freak has confirmed this is the final rerun, players who miss the deadline will no longer be able to obtain this marked version through official events.

More summer events are still available

Although the Hisuian starter raids are coming to an end, there is still more happening in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet throughout the summer.

Recent announcements introduced a special Magikarp Tera Raid alongside several Mass Outbreak events across both the base game and its DLC expansions. These events give returning players another reason to jump back into Paldea while waiting for the next mainline Pokémon adventure.

With Pokémon Winds and Waves expected to launch sometime in 2027, these seasonal events are likely to be among the final major reasons to revisit Generation 9 before the franchise moves forward.

Don’t wait too long

Players who still need Hisuian Samurott with the Mightiest Mark should make sure to challenge the 7-Star Tera Raid before July 17. Once the event ends, Game Freak has confirmed it will not be brought back, making this the final opportunity to obtain one of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s rarest event Pokémon.
