The Arc Raiders community has once again shown just how quickly it can unite behind a goal. Embark Studios launched the North Line update this week, kicking off a community-driven push to clear a tunnel leading to the next major location, Stella Montis. But what was intended to be a gradual progression quickly turned into a rapid sprint—forcing the studio to react in real time.
Community Progress Surges Faster Than Expected
The event revolves around a shared donation bar, where all players contribute common resources to excavate the tunnel. However, progress skyrocketed far beyond Embark’s expectations. According to the studio’s community manager, Ossen, the team expected the effort to take longer and wanted to ensure more players could participate before the tunnel was fully opened.
As a result, Embark increased the donation requirement, extending the event so the wider player base can join in before the objective is cleared.
How Donations Work
Players can contribute everyday loot items—including fabric, plastic, metal, rubber parts, and chemicals—through the live event menu. Importantly, donations remain open even after a player hits their Merit cap, allowing everyone to continue pushing the bar forward regardless of their personal rewards.
Merit Rewards and What Comes Next
Those who contribute earn Merits, a new event-specific currency described as crucial for “fueling the next phase of progression.” While capped per player, Merits are expected to roll directly into the upcoming Staking Our Claim phase. Even after maxing out Merits, players can still donate to support the global goal.
Stella Montis Brings New Locations and Enemies
Once unlocked, Stella Montis will introduce players to fresh environments, loot opportunities, and two new ARC enemy types:
- Matriarch – A larger, more imposing threat designed to challenge coordinated groups.
- Shredder – A fast-moving, aggressive ARC variant that adds more intensity to encounters.
The location is shaping up to be a significant milestone in Arc Raiders’ evolving world.
Embark Continues Fast Community-Focused Improvements
This event arrives on the heels of several rapid updates from Embark. In recent weeks, the studio added a Duos mode, reduced cosmetic prices after community feedback, and refunded Raider Tokens to players who purchased items before the price adjustments. The quick response to the North Line event’s unexpected pace further highlights Embark’s commitment to adapting alongside its community.
