Battlefield 6 Surpasses 7 Million Sales in Five Days, Outselling Call of Duty’s Beta Numbers

Battlefield 6 has achieved a remarkable start, selling over 7 million copies across all platforms within just five days of its global launch. According to data shared with GamesIndustry.biz, the game has generated roughly $350 million in gross revenue, making it one of EA’s most successful launches in recent years.

The platform breakdown shows that Steam accounts for 56.7% of total sales, while PS5 holds 23.7% and Xbox Series consoles 19.6%. In the UK, Battlefield 6 also claimed the top spot on the weekly sales chart ending October 11, surpassing EA Sports FC 26.

Outperforming Call of Duty During Beta

Comparisons between the Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta weekends revealed that Battlefield’s player engagement was significantly higher. Battlefield 6 peaked at over 520,000 concurrent players on Steam, while Black Ops 7 reached about 99,000.

These early numbers suggested strong launch potential — and EA has now confirmed that potential with real-world results.

Steam and Twitch Numbers Skyrocket

On launch day alone, Battlefield 6 sold 1.8 million copies on Steam, bringing in more than $100 million in revenue. Steam’s daily active player count has remained steady since release, fluctuating between 2.3 and 2.5 million players per day.

Twitch viewership has also boosted the game’s visibility. A promotional Drop campaign helped Battlefield 6 reach 865,000 concurrent viewers, marking one of the platform’s highest concurrent counts for a new release in 2025.

Compensation Following EA App Outage

Despite the successful debut, launch day wasn’t entirely smooth. Some players were unable to access the game due to an EA App issue falsely claiming they didn’t own it. EA quickly resolved the problem and offered compensation in the form of in-game boosters and a free season pass for affected users.

Addressing Community Feedback

EA DICE has already begun reviewing community feedback and is reportedly considering changes to weapon bloom mechanics to improve gunplay precision. Discussions around the game’s mastery camos and progression systems have also surfaced, with developers promising refinements in future patches.

Looking Ahead: Season 1 and Competition

Battlefield 6: Season 1 is set to launch on October 28, bringing new maps, weapons, and balance adjustments. The timing could be crucial, as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is expected to launch less than a month later, on November 14.

Analytics from Alinea suggest that about 3% of Battlefield 6 players have Black Ops 7 on their Steam wishlists. EA will likely aim to retain its audience with consistent updates before Activision’s next shooter hits the market.

With a strong start, high engagement numbers, and an active development team, Battlefield 6 could mark the franchise’s full-scale comeback after years of uneven releases.
