Pokémon GO Brings Seasonal Fun With New Evolutions
The Harvest Festival is officially returning to Pokémon GO this October, bringing new rewards, shiny encounters, and long-awaited debuts. Niantic confirmed that Dipplin and its evolution, Hydrapple, will arrive for the first time during the event, giving trainers an exciting reason to participate in this year’s festivities.
The 2025 Harvest Festival will run from Friday, October 10, at 10:00 AM local time through Thursday, October 16, at 8:00 PM local time. During this week-long celebration, players can expect themed wild encounters, new evolution items, collection challenges, and exclusive research opportunities.
Dipplin and Hydrapple Arrive in Pokémon GO
Dipplin, known as the Candy Apple Pokémon, first appeared in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s The Teal Mask expansion. In Pokémon GO, evolving Applin into Dipplin requires 200 Applin Candy and 20 Syrupy Apples, a new evolution item that can be obtained at PokéStops with an active Mossy Lure Module.
Hydrapple, the final form, will also be available. Trainers can evolve Dipplin into Hydrapple using 400 Applin Candy and by catching seven Dragon-type Pokémon with Dipplin as their buddy.
This marks the first time these Pokémon have been catchable outside of the main series games, making the event a milestone for collectors.
Event Bonuses and Wild Encounters
The Harvest Festival includes several seasonal bonuses and encounters:
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon when using Pinap Berries or Silver Pinap Berries.
- Increased Shiny rates for Pumpkaboo and Smoliv.
- Apples at PokéStops: Sweet, Tart, Syrupy Apples, and even encounters with Applin.
Wild Pokémon will feature a mix of seasonal favorites such as Miltank, Combee, Smoliv, and Applin, with Shiny variants available for the lucky.
Research, Collection Challenges, and Tickets
Players will have multiple ways to engage with the event:

For $4.99 USD, a Timed Research ticket grants:
- 2× Mossy Lure Module duration.
- Increased chance to receive Berries, including Silver Pinap and Golden Razz Berries.
- Rewards including 30 Silver Pinap Berries, three Mossy Lure Modules, and multiple Applin encounters.
