For over a year and a half, our community has faced an ongoing battle against a fraudulent operation designed to mislead, impersonate, and exploit unsuspecting players. Today, we’re pleased to announce that the matter has finally been resolved — with the culprits behind the fake GamingHQ community officially taken down and facing justice.
A Copycat Community with Malicious Intent
The fraudulent group created an exact copy of GamingHQ, setting up a fake Discord server with the goal of luring in our players and fans. Once joined, victims were at risk of being hacked, as their information was actively stolen.
The deception didn’t stop there. The group went further by impersonating GamingHQ’s founder, attempting to have his account removed or banned from other Discord servers. Their aim was to create confusion, stepping in to pose as the “real” account and spreading further damage under that false identity.
The Investigation and Its Outcome
Due to the scale of the impersonation and data theft, the situation was under investigation for more than a year. Now, with the perpetrators behind bars, the immediate danger has been eliminated, allowing GamingHQ to move forward without the shadow of these threats.
However, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Similar scams have affected other communities just as what happened with me. Look at deadside for example, where i was removed from the team, as i was apparently trash talking. No, they where scammers trash talking under my name, trying to find a way to gain access.
Moving Forward: A Stronger Community
With the dust settling, GamingHQ is returning to business as usual. The focus is once again on building and expanding the community, with new features and projects on the horizon that promise to surprise and excite members.
