CarX Street’s New Leaderboard System Raises Concerns Over Nerfed Rewards

A Promising Update with Unexpected Drawbacks

CarX Street’s Update 1.8.0 introduced several exciting features, including the long-awaited livery store and a revamped ranked leaderboard system. On paper, the new leaderboard races promised greater competition and more valuable rewards. However, the reality for many players has been far less positive.

Rewards Nerfed Instead of Improved

Reports from the community suggest that while the update showcases new leaderboard prizes, most of them have actually been reduced in value. Roughly 70–75% of the rewards appear to be nerfed compared to what was previously offered. Instead of being a step forward for competitive racing, many feel it’s a regression that undermines the effort required to climb the ranks.

This discrepancy between expectation and execution has left some players questioning whether the new system is truly beneficial or just a way to artificially stretch progression.

A Downhill Shift for Competitive Play?

For a racing game built on performance, competition, and progression, the leaderboard should represent prestige and meaningful rewards. If the majority of those rewards are weakened, the incentive to participate dwindles. Some players worry this shift could drive people away from ranked play entirely, leaving the system underutilized.

The Road Ahead

While Update 1.8.0 has brought substantial content and quality-of-life improvements, the new leaderboard system has sparked frustration instead of excitement. Unless adjustments are made to restore or re-balance rewards, CarX Street risks alienating the very players who thrive on competition.
