Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Campaign Co-Op Will Not Support Split-Screen

Black Ops 7 Co-Op Campaign Limited to Solo or Online Play

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is bringing back a co-op campaign for the first time since 2015’s Black Ops 3, but fans hoping to enjoy it locally on split-screen will be disappointed. While the game is confirmed to feature a 4-player co-op campaign, it will only be available solo or online, with no split-screen option included.

The decision marks a shift from Black Ops 3, which did allow players to experience the campaign together on one screen. For Black Ops 7, split-screen is limited to other game modes, meaning couch co-op fans will need to look elsewhere for shared-screen experiences.

Split-Screen Still Available in Other Modes

Despite the absence of split-screen in the campaign, the feature will still exist in Black Ops 7. The game’s official support page confirms split-screen will return, most likely for Zombies and multiplayer, as was the case with Black Ops 6. This ensures that local multiplayer options remain part of the series, even if the campaign does not support them.

Focus on Story and Continuity

Marketing for Black Ops 7 has placed heavy emphasis on its campaign, which will act as a direct sequel to Black Ops 2. The return of familiar characters and a continuation of the series’ storyline has been central to the reveal trailers, setting expectations for a narrative-driven experience.

Upcoming Reveal at Call of Duty NEXT

Fans can expect more details on Black Ops 7’s Zombies and multiplayer modes during the upcoming Call of Duty NEXT event on September 30. This showcase will also provide information on the game’s beta, which begins on October 2 for pre-orders and Game Pass subscribers. The beta will then open to all players from October 5–8.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches worldwide on November 14.
