Pokémon TCG Pocket has officially announced its newest expansion, Secluded Springs, which will release on August 28. The announcement follows a string of major updates across the Pokémon franchise, including new changes for Pokémon GO and the reveal of a new Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Since launching in October 2024, Pokémon TCG Pocket has steadily introduced new content and quality-of-life improvements, keeping its player base highly engaged. August 2025 alone has already featured the Blissey EX Drop event and news of an upcoming Lightning-Type Mass Outbreak, and now the game is set to close the month with another major release.
Trailer Confirmed Release Date After Early Leak
The release date for Secluded Springs was confirmed in a trailer posted to the official Pokémon YouTube channel on August 22. However, many fans were already expecting the reveal after an early leak spoiled the expansion. On August 21, the Korean Pokémon channel accidentally uploaded the trailer ahead of schedule, briefly giving fans a full look at the update before it was taken down.
With the trailer now live worldwide, players can see exactly what’s coming with the expansion and prepare for the new additions later this month.
What’s Coming with Secluded Springs
According to the official Pokémon website, the Secluded Springs expansion will introduce Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, alongside other Pokémon from the classic Gold and Silver era. The update also brings a series of limited-time events scheduled throughout September:
- September 2 – Zoroark Drop Event
- September 6 – Week of bonus events
- September 13 – Wonder Pick Event featuring Miltank and Phanpy cards
- September 24 – Mass Outbreak featuring Water-type Pokémon
The September Mass Outbreak marks a return to type-focused events after July’s first-ever Mass Outbreak centered around a single Pokémon.
Looking Ahead
While Secluded Springs is the headline update for August, it’s just one piece of the bigger picture for Pokémon TCG Pocket. Developer DeNA has previously teased a major overhaul coming sometime in 2025, though no official date has been given. With a consistent release schedule and frequent events, players can expect plenty more updates as the year continues.
