Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Will Feature Game-Changing Weapon Loadout Codes

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Introduces a Major New Feature

Treyarch Studios officially unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during Gamescom Opening Night Live, confirming not only the release date but also a brand-new feature that has fans buzzing. For the first time in the franchise, players will be able to share weapon loadout codes, allowing friends to instantly access full builds without manually entering attachments, perks, and equipment.

The system works by generating a single code for each unique build, meaning that identical setups will always produce the same code. This small but powerful quality-of-life addition is already being celebrated by fans as one of the smartest changes Treyarch has made in years.

A Direct Sequel to Black Ops 2

Launching on November 14, Black Ops 7 serves as a direct sequel to 2012’s Black Ops 2, set in the year 2035. The campaign will dive deep into themes of psychological warfare, focusing on fear and manipulation. Longtime fans will see the return of iconic characters like David Mason and Raul Menendez, alongside new faces that will shape the future of the Black Ops timeline.

Multiplayer and Movement Changes

Treyarch isn’t just leaning on nostalgia. Multiplayer will bring both fresh content and returning favorites, while also introducing meaningful mechanical changes. The studio has reworked its omnimovement system to include wall jumps and refined traversal options. Meanwhile, the controversial Tac Sprint mechanic is no longer a default feature—now becoming a perk instead, based on community feedback.

These updates highlight Treyarch’s commitment to evolving gameplay while also addressing long-standing player concerns.

Beta Dates Confirmed

Players eager to test the game will have two chances this October:

  • October 2 – Closed beta for pre-orders
  • October 5 – Open beta for all players

This gives fans an early opportunity to try out the new loadout sharing system and other gameplay updates before launch.

Competition with Battlefield 6

While Black Ops 7 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious entries in the series, it faces strong competition. EA and DICE are making a major comeback with Battlefield 6, which is already setting records after the troubled launch of Battlefield 2042. With the demand for grounded and realistic shooters growing, Treyarch will need to deliver on all fronts to ensure fans stick with Call of Duty.
