Raul Menendez Teased Ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Reveal at Gamescom

With just days left before the worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Activision has dropped a fresh teaser inside Call of Duty: Warzone. The teaser confirms the return of Raul Menendez, the iconic villain from Black Ops 2, further fueling excitement for the upcoming campaign.

A Direct Sequel to Black Ops 2

Unlike Black Ops 3 and Black Ops 4, which branched off in different directions, Black Ops 7 is set to continue directly from Black Ops 2. Taking place 10 years after the events of the 2012 title, the game will revisit familiar faces, including David Mason, while reintroducing Raul Menendez — a character long presumed dead.

The return of Menendez signals a bold narrative choice for Activision, bringing back one of the franchise’s most memorable antagonists to headline the conflict in the new story.

Raul Menendez Confirmed Alive in Warzone Teaser

A teaser trailer earlier this year at the Xbox Games Showcase hinted at Menendez’s survival, sparking major speculation among fans. Now, Activision has made things official with an in-game Warzone event.

Players visiting the TV Station on Verdansk can see Menendez broadcast a chilling message:
“My name is Raul Menendez. As you can see, I am alive and well. 2025 was just the beginning. A necessary first step. Once again, you shall know fear.”

The short clip not only cements his role in Black Ops 7 but also sets the tone for the darker and more personal conflict that awaits when the game is revealed in full at Gamescom.
