Black Ops 6 Season 5 Playlist Update Brings Fan-Favorite Modes

Treyarch Studios has rolled out a brand-new playlist update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, introducing a fresh mix of fan-favorite modes to keep the action going in Season 5. The update is live now across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC and does not require a client-side download, allowing players to jump straight into the action.

Players can now dive into Snipers Only, Nuketown 24/7, Stakeout 24/7, and more. Snipers Only strips away all equipment, field upgrades, and most scorestreaks, ensuring eliminations come exclusively from precision sniper shots. The update also features Small Map Moshpit, Aim High, Party Games: Blueprint Sharpshooter, and Party Games: Blueprint Gun Game for varied gameplay experiences.

Part of a Larger Season 5 Rollout

This is the first playlist refresh since the launch of Black Ops 6 Season 5 on August 7, which brought significant content to both Multiplayer and Zombies, alongside changes in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Season 5 introduced:

  • Two new multiplayer maps plus a remastered W.M.D from the original Black Ops.
  • A new Battle Pass packed with weapons and cosmetics.
  • Warzone’s Stadium POI reopened, bringing back a classic fan-favorite location.

Black Ops 6 Nears the End of Its Cycle

With Season 5 underway, Black Ops 6 is entering the final stretch of its life cycle. Based on past release patterns, players can expect one more season before development focus shifts entirely to the next title — Black Ops 7.

Activision has confirmed that the worldwide reveal for Black Ops 7 will take place on August 19, just days away. This reveal will set the stage for the next chapter in the long-running franchise.

Call of Duty Faces Competition from Battlefield 6

The Call of Duty franchise faces growing competition as EA’s Battlefield 6 surges in popularity. The game’s first open beta weekend saw it surpass Call of Duty’s historical Steam peak of 491,000 concurrent players, hitting over 521,000 on August 9. This momentum sets the stage for a renewed rivalry between two of the biggest FPS franchises when Black Ops 7 arrives.
