EA and Battlefield Studios have officially announced the open beta dates for Battlefield 6, giving fans two weekends of early access to the highly anticipated first-person shooter. The beta will be available to all players—no pre-order or subscription required—making it one of the most accessible public testing phases in the franchise’s history.
Open Beta Schedule
Players eager to jump into the chaos of Battlefield 6 will have three distinct opportunities to participate:
- Early Access Beta: August 7–August 8
(Accessible via select content creator giveaways following the July 31 showcase) - Open Beta Weekend 1: August 9–August 10
- Open Beta Weekend 2: August 14–August 17
The open beta is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
A Fresh Start for the Franchise
Battlefield 6 marks a significant moment for the franchise as it attempts to rebuild trust after the disappointing launch of Battlefield 2042. While updates eventually improved 2042, many longtime fans felt alienated by its lack of polish and missing features at release. EA is positioning Battlefield 6 as a return to form, offering both a full single-player campaign and a feature-rich multiplayer suite.
Confirmed Multiplayer Modes
At launch, Battlefield 6 will include eight multiplayer modes:
- Breakthrough
- Conquest
- Domination
- Escalation (New mode focused on capturing strategic control points)
- King of the Hill
- Rush
- Squad Deathmatch
- Team Deathmatch
Beta participants will likely get a first look at some of these modes, although EA has not yet confirmed which maps or game types will be available during testing.
Single-Player Campaign Details
While multiplayer remains the core attraction, Battlefield 6 also features a dedicated single-player campaign. Players will take control of Dagger 1-3, a Marine Raiders squad navigating global conflicts against powerful private military companies. However, the campaign won’t be playable during the beta and is reserved for the full launch on October 10.
Release Date and Platforms
Battlefield 6 is set to release on October 10 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, priced at $70 USD. With no early access or paywall blocking the beta, EA appears committed to allowing as many players as possible to test and evaluate the game before release.
Stay tuned for more updates as beta content details are revealed in the coming weeks.
