Final Fantasy 14 Players Must Claim Free Fantasia Before August 5 Patch Deadline

Final Fantasy 14 players have a limited window to claim a free Fantasia, with the offer set to expire when Patch 7.3 launches on August 5. Those who haven’t picked up this free item, introduced with the 7.2 update, are encouraged to do so before the patch day maintenance begins.

Free Fantasia Offered After Dawntrail Graphics Update

The free Fantasia is being offered to accommodate character model updates introduced alongside the Dawntrail expansion. The recent graphical overhaul altered how some characters look, prompting Square Enix to give players a one-time opportunity to remake their Warrior of Light without charge. Fantasias allow full access to the character creator, including options to change race and gender — a service that usually costs $10 on the Final Fantasy 14 Online Store.

How to Claim the Free Fantasia

Claiming the free Fantasia is straightforward. Players must travel to Old Gridania and locate the Wandering Moogle NPC at coordinates (X:10.7, Y:6.4) near Apkallu Falls, close to Jonathas, the achievement rewards NPC. The nearest Aetherytes are Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre and the Lancer’s Guild, both offering easy access to the area.

Simply interacting with the Wandering Moogle will prompt the Fantasia reward, assuming it hasn’t been claimed yet. Once received, the Fantasia can be kept indefinitely and used at any time.

No Word on Future Fantasia Giveaways

Square Enix has not confirmed whether future Fantasia giveaways will occur. While the 7.3 update will introduce improvements to hood visuals and more hat options for Hrothgar and Viera, no significant character model changes are planned that would warrant another free Fantasia.

For players who miss out on this limited-time item or have already used theirs, the only option will be to purchase one from the online store. However, discounts often appear during the game’s anniversary celebration, which typically starts in late August — something to keep in mind for those hoping to stock up at a lower cost.
