Pokémon GO Announces Summer Concert Event Featuring Junichi Masuda’s Music

Scopely has unveiled another exciting event for Pokémon GO, inviting trainers worldwide to take part in the Summer Concert from July 19 to July 22, 2025. This new celebration highlights the music of Junichi Masuda, the legendary composer behind many iconic Pokémon game soundtracks.

A Musical Celebration in Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO, which revolutionized mobile gaming in 2016 with its blend of augmented reality and geolocation technology, continues to engage players through frequent events and updates. From Community Days to GO Fests and themed research tasks, the game has consistently added new features, shiny Pokémon, and social gameplay elements to keep the experience fresh.

The Summer Concert marks another creative step, giving players a chance to enjoy a special in-game background music arrangement selected personally by Junichi Masuda. This unique soundtrack will play for all players who log in during the event window.

Event Bonuses and Featured Pokémon

During the Summer Concert, several gameplay bonuses and themed encounters will be available:

  • Lure Modules will last for 1 hour instead of the usual duration.
  • Lure Modules will attract specific Pokémon more frequently, including:
    • Jigglypuff
    • Lotad
    • Kricketot
    • Chatot (with an increased chance of encountering a shiny)
    • Audino
    • Noibat
    • Popplio
  • A special event-themed Field Research task will allow players to encounter Spinda, with a chance for it to appear shiny as well.

Trainers are encouraged to stock up on Lure Modules to maximize their shiny hunting opportunities, especially for the rare shiny Chatot.

More to Come: Dynamax Latios and Latias

Following the Summer Concert, Scopely has announced another major event just a week later. On July 26 and 27, 2025, the Legendary Hoenn duo, Dynamax Latios and Dynamax Latias, will debut in Pokémon GO during a Max Battle weekend. These five-star Max Battles will give players a chance to add the powerful Legendary Pokémon to their collections.

Support Changes for 32-bit Devices

In parallel with these announcements, Scopely has implemented an update discontinuing support for 32-bit Android devices. According to the developer, this decision allows resources to be focused on newer operating systems and technologies. While this leaves some older devices unable to run the game, players with newer hardware can continue to enjoy the expanding array of events and updates.

Pokémon GO players can mark their calendars for July 19 to experience the Summer Concert, enjoy exclusive bonuses, and catch some rare Pokémon while listening to Junichi Masuda’s iconic melodies.
