Players looking to grind levels, weapons, and the Battle Pass in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 or Warzone have a golden opportunity this weekend. Developers Treyarch Studios and Raven Software have launched a new Double XP event that runs from Friday, July 11 through Monday, July 14. The event is part of the ongoing Season 4 Reloaded content and gives fans a much-needed boost as the season heads into its final weeks.
Double XP on All Fronts
This weekend’s event is particularly notable for including not just double player XP and weapon XP, but also double Battle Pass XP—something fans don’t see as often. This makes it an ideal time for players to unlock the latest weapons and cosmetics, or finish pushing through the Battle Pass before Season 5 arrives.
Treyarch and Raven have not extended the event to Zombies mode this time around, however, meaning no 2X Gobblegum earn rate is active for fans of that mode.
A Turbulent Season 4
Season 4 launched on May 29 and has had its fair share of controversy. Players criticized the surprise addition of in-game store bundle ads when creating classes—a move Activision later called an “error” before removing it entirely. Despite the backlash, Season 4 has still delivered a variety of new maps, weapons, and a fresh Battle Pass to keep players engaged.
With the mid-season update now behind us, the focus is on wrapping up the current season’s progression before the next major update.
Looking Ahead to Black Ops 7
Beyond the weekend event, Call of Duty fans are already looking ahead to the franchise’s future. Treyarch officially revealed Black Ops 7 at last month’s Xbox Games Showcase, teasing a direct sequel to Black Ops 2 set in 2035. The game is expected to launch in late October or early November, continuing the series tradition. Returning characters like David Mason and Raul Menendez have been confirmed, and the game will release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
For now, players can jump into Black Ops 6 or Warzone and make the most of the Double XP weekend before the event ends on Monday, July 14.
