Palia Review – Summer Radiance Brings the Game Into Bloom

Palia has come a long way since its early days, and Patch 192 (“Radiance Rising”) marks an important milestone in making the cozy MMO feel more alive, polished, and rewarding. Here’s our updated review of Palia as of July 2025.

A World That Finally Feels Lived-In

One of the biggest strengths of Palia remains its world design — serene environments, charming NPCs, and inviting homesteads. With Patch 192, the developers doubled down on this, adding Elderwood Blossom Bounce events, a pirate-themed treasure hunt questline, and fresh decorative options to make your home and character feel unique.

The Elderwood event, in particular, succeeds in getting players to interact in joyful ways. Mushroom trampolines, seed-collecting mechanics, and archery challenges make the world feel bustling during peak hours. The seasonal nature of the event encourages players to log in and participate while it lasts, adding urgency without pressure.

Quests and Storytelling: A Step Forward

Radiance Rising introduces several new quests — from the whimsical (hunting Prismbeard’s legendary treasure) to the lore-rich discovery missions that flesh out the history and hidden corners of Kilima. The writing is lighthearted yet immersive, staying true to Palia’s cozy tone.

While the main narrative still feels secondary to crafting, farming, and decorating, these new questlines offer more reasons to explore and engage with the NPCs, which has been one of Palia’s weaker points in earlier patches.

More Ways to Play Your Way

For players who enjoy collecting and decorating, Patch 192 brings a lot to love. New decor sets, plushies, wallpapers, and flooring options let you express yourself even more. The introduction of a Platinum Galdur Pup pet and courier saddlebags (with expanded storage slots) is a brilliant addition for inventory-conscious players.

Meanwhile, the new Palium Storage Chest addresses long-standing concerns about limited storage — though the high cost (both in gold and effort) means it’s a late-game goal rather than an immediate fix.

Quality of Life Is Finally Catching Up

Palia’s early versions were charming but clunky. Patch 192 makes it feel smoother than ever. UI polish, housing tweaks (like tree placement limits being removed), and better controller support improve the moment-to-moment experience. Bug fixes for gifting, placement glitches, and UI responsiveness remove many of the little frustrations that previously added up.

Still Some Room to Grow

While Patch 192 is a fantastic update, Palia still feels light on deep, long-term progression. There are no truly new mechanics or regions introduced here — just expansions of existing ones. Players hungry for entirely new biomes, professions, or large-scale features will have to keep waiting.

Likewise, while group events are more frequent and engaging, solo players may find the world occasionally empty outside peak hours.

Verdict: A Bright, Blooming MMO That Keeps Getting Better

Palia is not trying to compete with hardcore MMOs — and that’s its charm. It’s a laid-back, cozy life sim with multiplayer elements, and Patch 192 strengthens its identity.

With more vibrant events, improved QoL, and an expanding list of collectibles, Palia finally feels like it’s delivering on its promise of being a relaxing, creative space to unwind in.

If you bounced off earlier due to bugs, grindy systems, or limited content, now is a great time to return and see how much better it feels.

⭐ Final Score: 8/10

Palia continues to blossom into one of the most charming MMOs on the market — light, cozy, and full of personality. With Patch 192, it’s more polished and engaging than ever, though some depth and variety are still lacking.
