PC gamers will soon have another opportunity to expand their Steam libraries without spending a penny. Lenovo is preparing a new giveaway featuring Fallout: New Vegas, one of the most beloved role-playing games in Bethesda’s Fallout franchise.
The promotion will begin on December 2, 2026, through the Lenovo Legion Gaming Community. Players who successfully participate will receive a Steam key for the original game, allowing them to keep it permanently.
However, there is a catch. The giveaway will have a limited supply of keys, and players must complete several requirements before they can claim their copy.
Fallout: New Vegas Giveaway Begins December 2
Lenovo has scheduled its Fallout: New Vegas giveaway for December 2 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. For European players in the Netherlands, that means the promotion starts at 6:00 PM CET.
Unlike temporary free weekends, this promotion will allow successful participants to permanently add the game to their Steam libraries. Once redeemed, the game will remain accessible even after the giveaway ends.
Players should keep in mind that the promotion is expected to include only the base game. Additional downloadable content, including the popular story expansions, will not be part of the offer.
Although Fallout: New Vegas originally launched in 2010, it continues to attract players thanks to its extensive role-playing mechanics, memorable characters, and freedom of choice.
The game also maintains an impressive reputation on Steam, with approximately 95% positive user reviews.
How to Claim Fallout: New Vegas for Free
Getting a free copy requires more than simply visiting Steam. Lenovo distributes its promotional keys through its own gaming community, meaning participants must prepare their accounts beforehand.
Players must first create a free Lenovo Legion Gaming Community account and connect a verified Twitch account.
Once these requirements are complete, participants can visit the dedicated Fallout: New Vegas giveaway page when the promotion begins.
Lenovo will use a queue system to distribute the available vouchers. Players who successfully obtain one must redeem it through Gamesplanet to receive their Steam key.
The final step involves activating that key through Steam, permanently adding Fallout: New Vegas to the player’s library.
Because the number of available keys is limited, joining the queue early could improve the chances of receiving a copy. However, participation does not guarantee that everyone will receive a key.
Why Fallout: New Vegas Is Still Worth Playing in 2026
More than sixteen years after its original release, Fallout: New Vegas remains one of the franchise’s most celebrated entries.
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the game takes players into the Mojave Wasteland, where competing factions struggle for control of New Vegas and the surrounding territory.
Unlike many modern open-world games, Fallout: New Vegas places considerable emphasis on player decisions. Dialogue choices, faction relationships, and character development can significantly influence how the story unfolds.
Its reputation has helped the game maintain a dedicated community long after its original release.
While the standard edition currently costs approximately $9.99 on Steam, the upcoming promotion offers an opportunity to experience the game without paying anything.
For newcomers interested in exploring the Fallout franchise, this could be an excellent starting point.
Fallout: New Vegas Remaster Rumors Continue
The giveaway also arrives during renewed interest in the future of Fallout: New Vegas.
Reports and speculation surrounding a potential remastered version have continued circulating, with some fans hoping for a release as early as 2027.
However, players should distinguish between speculation and official announcements. Bethesda has not publicly confirmed a Fallout: New Vegas remaster or announced a release date.
The possibility of another collaboration between Bethesda and Obsidian has also generated considerable excitement among fans. Nevertheless, no new Fallout project involving both studios has been officially detailed.
For now, the original Fallout: New Vegas remains the most accessible way to experience the Mojave Wasteland.
Lenovo Continues Its Free PC Game Promotions
Fallout: New Vegas is not Lenovo’s first major gaming giveaway.
The company previously offered Doom (2016) during October and has another promotion featuring Mail Mole scheduled for November 11.
These promotions provide an alternative to the free games regularly offered through other PC gaming platforms.
Meanwhile, Steam has also seen several games transition from paid releases to permanently free experiences. Titles such as Radiant Exodus, Cartomancy Anthology, and H-Hour: World’s Elite have recently joined the growing selection of free games available to PC players.
Unlike those permanent pricing changes, Lenovo’s Fallout: New Vegas promotion will only remain available while its allocated keys last.
Mark December 2 on Your Calendar
Anyone interested in obtaining Fallout: New Vegas should prepare their Lenovo Legion Gaming Community and Twitch accounts before December 2.
The giveaway begins at 6:00 PM CET for players in the Netherlands, and available keys could disappear quickly depending on demand.
With a highly regarded RPG available at no cost, this is one promotion that Fallout fans and PC gamers may not want to miss.
