The Pokémon Trading Card Game is heading into another huge period. With its 30th anniversary approaching, new card mechanics on the horizon and Pokémon continuing to expand the TCG, demand shows little sign of slowing down.
Unfortunately, neither do the scalpers.
A newly revealed collection of Eevee and Eeveelution figurines is already attracting attention, particularly because the figures appear to recreate artwork directly from Pokémon TCG cards.
Eevee and Every Eeveelution Get New Figurines
The collection reportedly includes Eevee alongside all eight of its current Eeveelutions:
- Vaporeon
- Jolteon
- Flareon
- Espeon
- Umbreon
- Leafeon
- Glaceon
- Sylveon
Rather than simply creating generic figures of the Pokémon, the designs appear to recreate their respective Pokémon TCG artwork. Their poses, proportions and presentation closely resemble the cards they are based on.
There is also reportedly a much rarer Eevee figure hidden among the collection.
This special version is based on Eevee’s Illustration Rare artwork and is said to have a 1-in-80 chance of appearing.
That rarity alone could make the figure one of the most sought-after pieces in the collection.
Mystery Boxes Combine Figures With Pokémon TCG Cards
The figures reportedly won’t simply be sold individually. Instead, Pokémon is using a mystery-box format.
Each box is expected to contain one figurine, a card stand, a reverse holo card featuring the corresponding Eeveelution and one Terastal Festival booster pack.
Terastal Festival is particularly interesting for international collectors because the Japanese set provided much of the foundation for the English Prismatic Evolutions expansion.
That means the product combines two things Eeveelution collectors are already fighting over: exclusive merchandise and highly desirable Pokémon cards.
Prismatic Evolutions became one of the biggest modern Pokémon TCG releases, with cards such as Tera Umbreon ex becoming major collector targets.
Putting a Terastal Festival pack inside each mystery box could therefore make these products even harder to find once they reach stores.
At the moment, there is no confirmed release date or official price for the figurine collection.
Pokémon TCG Is Preparing for Its 30th Anniversary
The reveal comes during an increasingly important period for the Pokémon TCG.
Pokémon is preparing to celebrate the trading card game’s 30th anniversary, with another anniversary-focused set expected to become a major release for collectors.
The TCG is also being connected with other parts of the Pokémon franchise, including the upcoming Pokémon: Wild Card movie and the broader build-up toward Pokémon Winds and Waves in 2027.
At the same time, Pokémon has already started revealing what comes next mechanically.
ex Star Cards Are Coming
During the closing ceremony of the Pokémon World Championships 2026, a new Pokémon TCG card type called ex Star was revealed.
The mechanic is expected to make its debut with Mega Lucario Z ex, adding yet another major card type for players and collectors to chase.
Between ex Star cards, anniversary products and increasingly elaborate collector merchandise, Pokémon clearly has plenty planned for the TCG.
But there is one major problem hanging over almost every exciting announcement.
Scalpers Are Becoming a Serious Pokémon TCG Problem
Getting Pokémon cards at normal retail prices has become increasingly difficult whenever a highly desirable set launches.
Products can disappear almost immediately after becoming available. Pre-orders are frequently overwhelmed, while sealed products quickly appear on aftermarket platforms for considerably higher prices.
The value of extremely rare Pokémon cards has also reached extraordinary levels, with individual cards selling for more than $1 million.
That kind of money inevitably attracts people who have little interest in actually collecting or playing Pokémon TCG.
Instead, products become investments to flip.
And when enough people attempt to do that simultaneously, regular collectors are left staring at empty shelves.
Retailers Are Trying Some Unusual Anti-Scalping Measures
The situation has become serious enough that retailers have experimented with methods designed to discourage resale.
Some stores have removed protective plastic from Pokémon TCG products after purchase. Others have reportedly gone even further by cutting the corners of booster packaging.
The idea is simple: the cards remain perfectly usable, but the sealed product becomes significantly less attractive to someone purchasing it purely for resale.
Nintendo has also addressed concerns surrounding product availability and scalping.
Whether these measures actually solve the problem remains questionable. Scalpers can adapt quickly, especially when demand remains considerably higher than available supply.
The Eeveelution Boxes Could Become Another Scalper Target
Eevee merchandise is already enormously popular, and Umbreon in particular has become one of the most valuable and desirable Pokémon among modern TCG collectors.
Now combine Eevee, all eight Eeveelutions, collectible figurines, exclusive cards, Terastal Festival boosters and a 1-in-80 secret figure inside mystery boxes.
It is practically a checklist of everything capable of attracting resellers.
For genuine Pokémon fans, the collection looks fantastic.
The bigger question may not be whether people want these Eeveelution figurines.
It may be whether ordinary collectors will actually be able to buy them before the scalpers do.
