Steam users have another free game they can permanently add to their libraries, but this one comes with a catch. PixelCrown Games has announced that Witchcraft: Candy Hunt will eventually be removed from Steam entirely.
The 2023 pixel-art shooter is currently free to claim. Anyone who adds it to their Steam library before the delisting will keep permanent access to the game, even after it disappears from the Steam store.
There is just one problem: nobody knows exactly how much time is left.
Witchcraft: Candy Hunt Is Being Delisted
PixelCrown Games has decided to permanently remove Witchcraft: Candy Hunt from Steam as the developer shifts its attention toward future projects.
According to the studio, Witchcraft was an important stepping stone in its development journey. However, continuing to maintain an older free game can still create costs and require resources that a smaller developer may prefer to spend elsewhere.
The studio is now focusing its efforts on GODSCALE, an upcoming dark-fantasy action platformer.
Rather than simply allowing Witchcraft: Candy Hunt to disappear, players are being given an opportunity to grab the game for free before that happens.
There Is No Confirmed Delisting Date
This is where things become slightly more urgent.
PixelCrown Games has not announced an exact date for when Witchcraft: Candy Hunt will disappear from Steam.
Removing a game from Steam involves the developer submitting a removal request to Valve, after which the platform follows its own internal process. That means there is currently no reliable countdown showing players exactly how long they have left.
If you are interested in the game, there is little reason to wait.
Once Witchcraft: Candy Hunt has been added to your Steam library, it remains associated with your account. The upcoming delisting prevents new players from acquiring it but does not remove existing copies from libraries.
