Nintendo is giving Zelda collectors another reason to clear some space on their shelves. Two brand-new Amiibo have been revealed for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, featuring Young Link and Young Zelda.
The figures were revealed during a Zelda-focused Nintendo Direct and are based specifically on the redesigned versions of the characters from the remake. Better yet, they aren’t purely collectibles. Both Amiibo will unlock exclusive cosmetic content when scanned in the game.
Young Link and Young Zelda Get New Amiibo
Nintendo revealed the two figures separately, with each Amiibo featuring considerably more scenery than a standard standing character pose.
The Young Link Amiibo depicts Link sitting down and reaching toward Navi, his fairy companion throughout Ocarina of Time. Meanwhile, the Young Zelda Amiibo shows the young princess seated while holding the iconic ocarina.
Both designs closely follow the updated visual direction of the Ocarina of Time remake while recreating imagery associated with the original adventure.
For collectors, that alone could make them tempting additions to the ever-growing Zelda Amiibo lineup.
Both Amiibo Unlock Unique Masks
Nintendo is also giving players an in-game incentive to pick them up.
Scanning either the Young Link or Young Zelda Amiibo in the Ocarina of Time remake will unlock a unique mask. These aren’t simply modern cosmetic designs either.
Instead, the masks take inspiration from the polygonal character models of the original Nintendo 64 version of Ocarina of Time.
It’s a fitting reward considering how dramatically the remake updates the game’s presentation. Players will essentially be able to carry a small piece of the original 1998 visual style into the completely rebuilt version of Hyrule.
Nintendo hasn’t revealed whether these masks provide gameplay benefits, so they currently appear to be primarily cosmetic rewards.
There’s One Catch: They’re Coming After the Game
Players hoping to have the new Amiibo ready for launch will have to wait.
The Ocarina of Time remake launches on November 5, 2026, while the Young Link and Young Zelda Amiibo aren’t scheduled to arrive until sometime in 2027.
Nintendo hasn’t provided an exact release date for either figure yet. As a result, they could arrive several months after players have already started—or even finished—the remake.
That timing also suggests Nintendo intends to continue supporting and promoting Ocarina of Time beyond its initial November release.
How Much Will the New Zelda Amiibo Cost?
Nintendo hasn’t announced official pricing for either Amiibo.
However, based on previous Link and Zelda figures, a price somewhere around $20 each wouldn’t be surprising. Since the Young Link and Young Zelda Amiibo will be sold separately, collectors wanting both should expect to pay for two individual figures.
Final pricing could vary by region and retailer once Nintendo officially opens pre-orders.
Nintendo Is Leaning Hard Into Ocarina of Time Nostalgia
The decision to base the Amiibo rewards on the original N64 graphics is particularly fitting.
Ocarina of Time remains one of Nintendo’s most recognizable games, and its blocky character models have become instantly recognizable to longtime Zelda fans. Rather than completely distancing the remake from those visuals, Nintendo appears willing to celebrate them.
The new Amiibo represent that approach perfectly. Their physical designs showcase the remake’s modern presentation, while their digital rewards bring back the unmistakable polygonal look of the 1998 original.
With the remake arriving on November 5 and the Amiibo following in 2027, Nintendo is clearly preparing to keep Ocarina of Time in the spotlight well beyond launch day.
