The Pokémon Trading Card Game is preparing for one of its biggest milestone releases yet, as the 30th Celebration expansion has officially been announced. Revealed on April 2, the upcoming set is scheduled to launch first in Japan on September 16, with a worldwide release expected to follow shortly after.
While an exact global release date has not yet been confirmed, the expansion is already shaping up to be a centerpiece event for the franchise’s anniversary, combining nostalgia with notable gameplay and collectible changes.

The 30th Celebration expansion arrives during an already packed year for the Pokémon TCG.
2026 began with Ascended Heroes in January, described as the largest set released to date. This was followed by Perfect Order in March, which leaned heavily into competitive play. Looking ahead, Chaos Rising is set to introduce Mega Greninja ex, continuing the trend of high-impact releases.
At the same time, Pokémon TCG Live has supported the anniversary with in-game rewards, including free packs and decks, helping maintain engagement across both physical and digital platforms.
