Niantic has officially revealed details for the Pokémon GO Halloween 2025 event, giving trainers plenty to look forward to during this year’s spooky season. From ghostly new Pokémon debuts to limited-time rewards and eerie music, the celebration promises to be one of the most hauntingly delightful events of the year.
Poltchageist and Sinistcha Make Their Pokémon GO Debut
The highlight of Halloween Part 1 is the arrival of Poltchageist and Sinistcha, the Matcha Pokémon, making their first-ever appearance in Pokémon GO. Trainers will also have the chance to encounter a Shiny Sinistea, adding a fresh collectible for shiny hunters.
To match the theme, players can purchase a Poltchageist Hat for their avatars and unlock a Teatime Pose by upgrading to the GO Pass Deluxe. The GO Pass: Halloween 2025 brings tiered bonuses such as:
- Tier 1: Extra Catch Candy
- Tier 2: Increased chance for trainers over level 30 to earn Candy XL from Nice, Great, and Excellent throws
- Tier 3: Boosted Candy from transfers and higher Candy XL odds for trainers level 31 and above
Haunting Raids and Field Research Encounters
The event will feature a range of ghostly Pokémon across various raid levels:
- One-Star Raids: Galarian Yamask, Sinistea, Poltchageist
- Three-Star Raids: Alolan Marowak, Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Samurott
- Shadow Raids: Shadow Yamask and Shadow Phantump
Trainers completing Field Research Tasks can encounter Pokémon like Sableye, Yamask, Zorua, Hisuian Zorua, Litwick, Vullaby, Phantump, and Spiritomb. Some research tasks will also grant Mega Energy for Gengar, Houndoom, Sableye, Banette, and Absol.
Halloween Ambience Returns with Lavender Town Remix
As with previous years, Pokémon GO’s Halloween event will be draped in spooky decorations, from PokeStops to Gyms. A haunting remix of the Lavender Town theme will also return, setting the perfect mood for the season’s festivities.

Part 1 of the Halloween 2025 event begins on October 21 at 10 a.m. local time and runs until October 27 at 10 a.m. local time.
