Treyarch Studios has officially extended the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 open beta period by an additional 24 hours, giving fans extra time to dive into the highly anticipated shooter. The announcement came on October 6, just two days before the beta’s original end date, confirming that the event will now run until Thursday, October 9 at 9 AM PT.
To celebrate the extension, Treyarch rolled out a new beta update introducing a brand-new multiplayer map and extending 2XP + 2X Weapon XP through the remainder of the beta, allowing players to reach level 30 faster and test out the full arsenal of weapons and gear before the game’s official launch in November.
New Map and Playlists Added
The latest update adds Toshin to the multiplayer map rotation, joining Blackheart, Cortex, Exposure, Imprint, and The Forge. Zombies enthusiasts can continue exploring Vandorn Farm until the beta concludes.
As for playlists, Treyarch confirmed that Open Moshpit, Moshpit, Open Hardcore Moshpit, Search & Destroy, and Training Course will remain active until the end of the extended beta period.
One of the most celebrated additions to the beta so far has been the Open Moshpit mode, which reintroduces classic matchmaking reminiscent of Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 2. Fans have praised Treyarch for bringing back this traditional experience after years of community requests, describing it as a welcome throwback to the series’ roots.
Beta Success and Anti-Cheat Improvements
While Black Ops 7’s beta may not have matched Battlefield 6’s player counts on Steam, it’s still considered a major success for both Treyarch and Activision. Players have responded positively to the new gameplay features, weapon balancing, and return of old-school matchmaking systems.
Behind the scenes, Activision continues to test improvements to its Ricochet anti-cheat technology. Despite some cheaters slipping into lobbies, the publisher reports that less than 1% of all beta matches were affected. Those who did gain access were reportedly detected and removed within 30 minutes of logging in.
Final Hours Before Launch
With just one more day added to the open beta, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players have a final opportunity to experience all the available content before the servers close. The full game is scheduled for release this November, with Treyarch promising continued support, more maps, and updates as the franchise enters its next generation of warfare.
