Recent store listings have seemingly confirmed the title of the third Mega Evolution-era set as Storm Emeralda, with Mega Zygarde ex named as one of its featured cards. The expansion is currently expected to release in Japan in January 2026, setting the stage for its global launch later in the year.
The name “Emeralda” has sparked speculation that the set could highlight Mega Rayquaza ex, one of the most legendary Mega Pokémon in both the games and TCG history. If confirmed, this would mark the return of a powerhouse that once dominated tournaments.
Mega Rayquaza’s Dominant Legacy
Mega Rayquaza is no stranger to competitive success. When it first appeared in the Roaring Skies expansion, its deck quickly became a top-tier threat, even placing in the Top 8 of the 2016 US National Championships.
