Gearbox Software is rewarding Borderlands 4 players with a brand-new cosmetic for Rafa, the exo-soldier vault hunter introduced in the latest entry of the franchise. The “Savings Savior” skin is now available for free as a SHiFT reward following the successful completion of the recent YOLT community challenge.
Rafa’s Savings Savior Skin Unlock Code
Borderlands 4 players can claim the Savings Savior skin by redeeming the SHiFT code:
TZXT3-XJXCB-CXBJW-BTTJT-9SK6B
The code can be redeemed either in-game through the SHiFT menu or directly on the SHiFT website. It is valid through December 31, 2030, giving players plenty of time to unlock the skin. To claim the reward, players must ensure they have a SHiFT account linked to their platform.
The community earned this reward by securing over 23.4 million second winds as Rafa between September 26 and September 28—surpassing the original goal by 3.4 million. The skin, inspired by Rafa’s “YOLT” introduction trailer, includes Tediore branding and adds gritty, battle-worn details like bloodstains, highlighting his military past.
A Nod to Rafa’s Popularity
Since launch, Rafa has become a fan favorite, particularly among players who previously enjoyed Zane’s agility-focused playstyle in Borderlands 3. The Savings Savior outfit further emphasizes his background and raw design, providing a fresh reason for players to revisit the character.
What’s Next for Borderlands 4
While Rafa is in the spotlight now, fans are also looking ahead to C4SH, the first of two new vault hunters arriving in future DLC. Announced at the Tokyo Game Show, the upcoming expansion—Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned—is set for release in Q1 2026. It remains to be seen how this new addition will impact the rankings of the franchise’s most-played characters once it launches.
