Preloads for Battlefield 6 are now live, allowing players to download the beta client ahead of the upcoming Open Beta. This gives players the opportunity to be ready for the earliest start time of August 7, when Early Access begins. The Open Beta will later become available to all players starting August 9.

The beta will be accessible across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC via Steam, Epic Games, and the EA App. EA recommends that PC players check the game’s system requirements to ensure optimal performance. The publisher has also confirmed that its proprietary Javelin anti-cheat system will be active in Battlefield 6 from launch.

Weapons and Matchmaking Details

According to DICE Producer Alexia Christofi, Battlefield 6 will feature close to 40 weapons at launch, a notable increase from the 22 weapons that were available at the launch of Battlefield 2042.

The developer has also clarified how skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) will work. SBMM will be less prominent in large-scale modes like Conquest, while playing a more significant role in smaller-scale modes such as Team Deathmatch.
