Just eight days after returning to Twitch, controversial streamer and content creator IShowSpeed has already surpassed 1 million followers on the platform. The milestone coincides with his second European tour, which he has been documenting live on Twitch and YouTube.
While the numbers may seem impressive, they only highlight a deeper problem: platforms and audiences continue to reward creators who display offensive, toxic, and female-unfriendly behavior. IShowSpeed has built his brand on shouting obscenities, disrespecting women, and fueling chaos in public spaces — hardly the type of figure Twitch should be showcasing to millions of viewers.
A History of Bad Behavior
IShowSpeed was originally permabanned from Twitch back in 2021 after making controversial, misogynistic remarks during a stream with Adin Ross. That ban led him to YouTube, where he cultivated a massive following of over 42 million subscribers despite continuing his antics and foul-mouthed tirades.
When Twitch lifted his ban in 2023, many assumed it was an opportunity for Speed to mature and clean up his act. But his July 2025 return has shown otherwise. While his streams in Estonia, Greece, and France have drawn attention, they have also included the same chaotic, disrespectful behavior that made him infamous in the first place.
Twitch’s Complicity in a Serious Problem
What’s even more concerning is Twitch’s role in enabling this behavior. By lifting his ban and allowing him back on the platform — only for him to quickly regain 1 million followers — Twitch is effectively sending a message that hate, harassment, and disrespect toward women are not only tolerated, but rewarded.
This is a serious issue that the streaming community can no longer ignore. Twitch’s decision to reinstate IShowSpeed despite his well-documented misogyny sets a damaging precedent and undermines any claims the platform makes about fostering a safe, inclusive space for all. High likely that someone at twitch has a IQ of 0, as the brick from a sidewalk is higher, then twitch’s IQ itself.
Rewarding the Wrong Message
Speed’s quick climb back to 1 million followers on Twitch is being celebrated by his fanbase, but it sends the wrong message to the broader community. Rewarding someone who uses a “potty mouth” as a brand and shows blatant disregard for women and public order only normalizes such behavior on a global stage.
His European streams so far have included getting swatted while filming at a KFC and paying damages due to dangerous crowding caused by his presence — further proof that his content is not just immature but also irresponsible.
Time to Step Away
There is no denying that IShowSpeed has an audience. But an audience alone is no justification for continuing a career built on disrespect, toxicity, and hate toward women. For the sake of the communities he streams to — and to set a better example for younger viewers — it’s time for him to step away from the camera.
Twitch, YouTube, and the broader streaming industry must stop enabling this behavior and take stronger action to uphold their stated values of respect and inclusivity.
