Publisher Big Fan Games has confirmed that John Wick Hex, the only official game in the John Wick franchise, will be removed from all digital storefronts on July 17, 2025. After this date, the tactical strategy title will no longer be available for purchase, though existing owners will retain access.
Developed by Bithell Games and originally launched for PC and macOS in October 2019, John Wick Hex later came to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2020. The game is a real-time tactical role-playing experience that puts players in the shoes of the deadly assassin himself as he rescues Winston and Charon from the villain Hex, a new character created for the game.
The game features voice performances from Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick, reprising their movie roles, alongside Troy Baker as the titular Hex. It is notable for its comic book-inspired art style and prequel story, which ties into the larger John Wick universe.
Players Can Still Buy Before July 17
According to Big Fan Games’ official announcement, John Wick Hex will be delisted across all platforms — PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, Xbox Games Store, and Steam — starting July 17. Players who purchase the game before that date will continue to own and play it through their libraries, and physical console copies will remain fully functional.
The publisher did not explain the reason for the delisting. While the game received mixed feedback for its action gameplay, many fans appreciated its unique approach and narrative contribution to the franchise.
The Future of John Wick in Games
Although John Wick Hex is leaving digital shelves, Lionsgate has previously confirmed that a new AAA John Wick video game is currently in development. Details about the project remain scarce, but it promises to deliver a more ambitious experience based on the blockbuster series.
Meanwhile, John Wick’s story will continue to expand outside games. An animated prequel film, produced by Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski, is in the works and will explore Wick’s infamous “impossible task,” adding more depth to the assassin’s lore.
Fans who want to experience John Wick Hex still have a final window to purchase it for $19.99 before it disappears from storefronts for good.
