Grand Theft Auto 6 Online Rumored to Feature Massive Servers and Minimal Loading Times

New rumors have surfaced claiming that Grand Theft Auto 6’s online mode will bring significant advancements over its predecessor, including much larger multiplayer servers and a seamless free-roam experience with little to no loading times.

Rockstar Games has kept quiet about GTA 6 since the major leak in 2022, but leaks and insider claims have continued to circulate. Earlier reports suggested the single-player campaign would feature over 700 stores, a limited weapon wheel similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, five story chapters, and the removal of prone mechanics. Now, attention has turned to the highly anticipated online mode.

Servers Could Double or Even Triple Current GTA Online Capacity

According to a new claim by writer Fravilys, Rockstar is preparing Grand Theft Auto Online 2 (codenamed GTA6MP) to host much larger lobbies than GTA Online. The insider suggests that servers are currently targeting 64-player capacity — double the 32-player limit in GTA Online — with potential for future expansion to support as many as 96 players.

This would mark a major shift in scale, aligning more closely with the custom servers seen in FiveM, a popular GTA 5 multiplayer modification. Rockstar acquired FiveM developer Cfx.re in 2023, fueling speculation that GTA 6 Online could incorporate official roleplay-focused or large-scale servers inspired by the mod.

Seamless Multiplayer With Minimal Loading

Fravilys also claims that GTA6MP is already at an advanced development stage, with Rockstar aiming to deliver a seamless multiplayer experience. Players would reportedly be able to roam freely and interact with others from different sessions without leaving their environment or experiencing traditional loading screens.

This level of fluidity would be a significant improvement over the current GTA Online, where session changes and loading times remain a frequent pain point for players.

Roleplay Integration Could Be on the Horizon

While Rockstar has not confirmed how its acquisition of Cfx.re will impact GTA 6 Online, many fans believe it signals the company’s intent to bring roleplay servers and larger community-driven experiences into the official multiplayer ecosystem. Given that FiveM servers currently support hundreds of players simultaneously, the rumored increase in GTA6MP’s capacity appears consistent with such ambitions.

Take These Leaks Cautiously

It’s worth noting that the source of these claims, while detailed, has no established track record of accurate leaks. As always with unverified information, these details should be viewed as speculation until Rockstar provides official confirmation.

With Grand Theft Auto 6 shaping up to be one of the most anticipated games of the decade, expectations are high for both its single-player and multiplayer offerings. If these rumors hold true, GTA 6 Online could redefine open-world multiplayer on an unprecedented scale.
