GTA 5 Title Update 1.71: New Ray Tracing Options, Businesses, and Over 100 Fixes Drop in Major Patch

Rockstar Games has officially released Title Update 1.71 for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition, and it’s one of the biggest patches to date. This major update delivers two new Ray Tracing options for PC users, a brand-new money laundering business system, seven new vehicles, and over 100 gameplay fixes and improvements—making it an essential download for all GTA fans.

New Ray Tracing Options on PC

PC players now have access to two additional Ray Tracing features in the graphics settings:

  • High Resolution Ray Traced Reflections
  • Secondary Ray Bounce for RTGI (Ray Traced Global Illumination)

These settings promise to deliver even more visual realism to Los Santos. However, it remains unclear whether major graphics mods like NaturalVision Evolved, RealityV, or ChromatiX are compatible with this patch. Players using these mods should expect potential conflicts until compatibility is confirmed.

Unfortunately, there’s still no support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation or AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Gen, despite the addition of these demanding RT features. PC users hoping for native Frame Gen support will have to rely on mods—for now.

New Businesses: Hands On Car Wash, Higgins Helitours & More

The Money Fronts update introduces a new business expansion system, centered around money laundering. Players can now buy and manage up to three interconnected businesses:

  • Hands On Car Wash (central hub)
  • Higgins Helitours
  • Smoke on the Water

Each business comes with its own bonuses and missions, as well as new Freemode content tied to a mysterious contact named Raf. Owning multiple businesses increases passive income and mission efficiency, and unlocks Career Progress Challenges exclusive to Enhanced versions on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Vehicles: 7 New Additions + Returning Classics

Seven new vehicles have been added, including:

  • Överflöd Suzume (Super) – GTA+ exclusive until June 26
  • Dewbauchee Rapid GT X (Sports)
  • Karin Woodlander (SUV) – HSW upgrade available
  • Übermacht Sentinel GTS (Sports)
  • Annis Hardy (Sedan)
  • Karin Everon RS (SUV)
  • Western Police Bike (Emergency) – Comes with a new Highway Patrol Outfit

A huge list of returning vehicles now supports Imani Tech Missile Lock-On Jammer upgrades via the Agency Mod Shop or Vinewood Club Garage.

Quality of Life Improvements

This update delivers several experience enhancements:

  • Cutscenes in missions can now be skipped after first viewing.
  • Extended Sell Mission warning timer to 60 seconds.
  • Survivals now restock ammo on return to Freemode.
  • New Taxi Work option when using a drift-tuned Cypher.
  • Players can now cancel Boss Work directly via their phone.

Also, a wide range of UI improvements, gameplay balances, and GTA+ updates (like a second daily Diamond Casino spin) have been implemented.

Creator & Lighting Updates

Track pieces from Lunar New Year races are now usable in the Stunt Race Creator. There’s also a new aim mode override option in all job creators, plus added control over Survival wave prep time.

For PC players using the Enhanced Edition, Rockstar has expanded lighting options to include:

  • High Resolution Ray Traced Reflections
  • Secondary Ray Bounces for RTGI

These changes aim to further improve the game’s visual fidelity, but again, mod users are advised to test compatibility carefully.

Over 100 Fixes Improve Stability, Missions & More

Title Update 1.71 includes fixes for:

  • Crashes and networking issues in both GTA V and GTA Online
  • Bugged missions (from Cayo Perico and Doomsday to recent Oscar Guzman setups)
  • Stuck cutscenes and elevators, missing NPCs, reward issues, and misbehaving properties
  • Vehicles disappearing, overlapping, or showing incorrect textures
  • Multiple PC-only stability and transaction errors

The full changelog is massive—ranging from bugged heist preps and race editor issues to broken map markers and UI glitches.

Final Notes

While the update packs a massive punch in content and stability, many players remain disappointed with the ongoing lack of DLSS 3 or FSR 3.0 Frame Gen support. Given the scale of the new RT features, it’s surprising Rockstar has yet to implement modern frame generation technologies.

Still, GTA V Enhanced is now more stable and content-rich than ever. The update will be downloaded automatically through Steam and other platforms upon launching the game.

For now, expect the modding community to begin testing compatibility, especially with graphical mods. And if you plan to scroll through the entire patch notes, brace yourself—it’s a long ride.

Stay tuned for more updates from Los Santos.
